Question about Sanyo PLV-Z2 Multimedia Projector

New Sanyo PLV-Z2 not bright

I have replaced the PLV-Z2 lamp for the first time after almost 4 years.
However, with the new lamp, the image is so dim, it is un-watchable.
I followed the installation instruction in the manual which is very straight
forward.
Did I get a faulty lamp or I'm missing something here.

Thanks for all the help.

As far as I know, this is a new lamp and it is for the Sanyo PLV-Z2.
The current lamp is still functional, except that there are hundreds of
little bright dots that become visible in a dark scene. As far as
brightness and contrast, I could see very minimal degradation if at
    all.
The lamp indicator light on the projector has been yellow for quite
a while now, so I think it it will blow anytime.
Thanks for any helps that can be provided.

Is this original lamp or refurbished one or compatible some thing.
how was performance of previous lamp when you pull out it? if it is still working for few minutes, you can confirm projector by reinstalling it.

Projector might need cleaning of dust inside lens and lcd assembly. use air-blower and clean it.

Blue haze/fog all over screen

As it appears from the images that the images are fine. The sanyo PLV-Z2 is a LCD projector. So basically it projects 3 R G and B lights to make the screen. Yes it is definately not a LAMP issue. Either dust could have accumulated on the R and G panels thus leading to these prominent BLUE patches or if the LCD panels are damaged, u have to get the G or R replaced.. try running a application like Displaymate from "http://www.majorgeeks.com/DisplayMate_d4189.html" and see which of the panels is exactly responsible for the problem. I think this should sort it out.

what about the Projector Condition leds: POWER, WARNING and LAMP REPLACE? How are they lit? For good measure you should also clean the air filter (the projector might not be getting enough air to cool the lamp)

What is the lamp life on a sanyo plv-z2 bulb and how to read the bulb life there are 3 numbers that come up when i check it

If I remember correctly, you hold down either the power or the menu button for 30 seconds... I believe it is the power button, and it will briefly display it on the screen, but this assumes it was reset at the time the lamp was installed. The counter counts up on this model, and the lamp replace light will come on at 3000 hours. I have 2 of these units, and I have gotten at least 5000 hours out of each lamp. Toward the end of the lamp life, it may start getting dim and/or have difficulty starting, but I probably wouldn't replace it until you either notice the dimming or the lamp fails, although I've heard some say they can damage the projector when they fail, I have not had any problems.
