Peace Friend,
ngafm At your service!

Ready?
If the freezer is cold and not the fridge, you need to make sure the freezer is not filled to the top and covering the cold air vents and passages usually found in the rear or bottom rear of the freezer!
If they are blocked or covered with packages the unit will not be able to transfer cold air to and from the fridge!
Yes, they share the air in most refrigerators!

What type fridge,model and age?

If not only a trained tech can make the electronic diagnoses.
Like we used to be able to fix my own cars, but not today they need diagnostic equipment!

How old is the washer?

If the appliance is 10 years old or more you it may not be advisable to put good money into bad!
New appliances are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!
Water,Electric and detergent! And put money back in your pocket!
The new appliance will pay for itself in only a few years!

You will be fine

I have a 3.3 fridge/freezer-the back wall of the fridge has a buildup of ice ???

Sounds like either: 1) The thermostat is set too low.
2) The defrost control is bad
3) The main drain in the freezer has frozen over not allowing water to drain.

I bought a whirlpool fridge freezer last two weeks it was working fine but i noticed that the freezer is making too much ice when i set it at temperature 7 which is melting and i keep seeing water under...

Water under it is fine as long as it is not on the floor. It should be in a pan that came with the unit. You should have 2 temp setting for the unit..1 for the freezer and one for the frid. set the freezer for 5 to start. and then set the frig at 5. and adjust only the fridg side after a few hours. If this does not wrok call the place you bought it from as it may have a bad swthch on the indoor fan or a bad flapper door that allows cold air from the freezer to cool the fridg. But you have to start at mid range and adjust only the fridge side moving it up or down buy 1 number at a tiem.. Let me know know. I hope this helps Jon

The freezer part is working Fine, maintaining temp, but the fridge part is not, I have left it unplugged for 2 days to defrost all parts

If the A/C coil is freezing the ice acts as an insulator and the evaporator will not absorb heat in that condition.

Sir i have a whirpool top freezer ,top work ok, but low fredge not, any sugestion ,i understand drenaige is clogging and frozen . tanks rc technic support has quit

This could be the back cover has either been removed or fell off when you moved it.This will cause the compressor to run hot and not cool as wel
I'm adding some defrost problems that could be happening too.l.

Hi,
I'm Leo
This is a common defrost problem, The ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. he fan can't blow into ref.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check evaporator fan in freezer
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
If this was helpful please rate me
Thanks for using fixya

The freezer side is very cold but in the refrigerator not much cold.

Check evaporator fan inside the freezer
Check condensor fan underneath in back
Check for ice buildup in the evaporator coils (Defrost Problem.)
Also ice and/or frost on the back wall of freezer (defrost problem)
Check air vent for ice block from freezer to refrigerator inside the fridge.
Should have low air volume to fridge from freezer.

If this was helpful please rate me.

Refrigerator temperature can't be set to cold - sensor light shows 9C and keeps on beeping. Samsung model RB1855SL

I had this exact problem with my 4 yr old Samsung RB1855SL refrigerator. BTW, the temperature display doesn’t display higher than 9C, even when its warmer inside. The fan wasn’t turning on to circulate the cold air, although the cooling coils were still cooling. There was no excess ice build-up. The freezer was working fine.

I thought perhaps the fan was toast or the temperature sensor. Then I noticed the interior fridge light was not turning off when closing the door (but the freezer light was). BINGO—thig light switch was the problem. A small piece on the inside of the fridge side of the switch was broken. When the door was closed, the broken switch didn’t let the fridge know that the door was in fact closed, causing the door alarm to keep beeping. This must shut the fan down in order to save energy when regularly opening the door.

DIY fix: I removed the switch (until I could get a replacement) which is located to the left of the lower door hinge (right hand side). Gently, with a flat nose screw driver, I pried it out.

The light no longer turned on when opening either door but that was a small price to pay compared to the incessant beeping and rotten food. The part can’t be very expensive and I can replace it myself. The local appliance repair shop will order it for me.

No expensive “internal brain” needed to be replaced or an expensive repairman needed to be called. Good luck!

I have a Samsung RS21DPSM side by side fridge under 2 years old and the other day a loud noise was coming from fridge Sounds like a fan as when you open fridge door it grinds to a stop) compartment and...

There is a design problem with this model. The fridge section is icing over due to a design defect and the noise you can hear is due to the fan on the motor driving against the ice. Eventually the motor will be stopped from running and the fuse will blow in your plug. Contact Samsung and they should replace the defective parts with a fix.

Fridge not cooling, freezer icing up

this is a very common problem, and guessing we are talking about a domestic refrigerator, it helps to know the details, chances are your defrost heater is not working, and 90% is not the heater, is what controls it the defrost timer, your solution to test this, is defrost the refrigerator, for a few hours your are going to have water everywhere, then turn it back on, it will work for a few days. until you replace the defrost
