Question about PC Desktops

I have a logitech quickcam IM (webcam). It was installed awhile ago. It was working fine. Then, there was an update which automatically updated my logitech. I then started having problems with my viewing. When I Skype my family, they can see me but I can't see them. They tested their camera and everybody else can see them but me. In otherwords, my logitech does not product their image back to me. HELP! I cannot re-install with my logitech installation disc because it is now out of date and I've been updated already. HELP!

WN, I followed your instructions but once again this is an older version QuickCam v11.5 file to download. My computer says I need to uninstall my newer version in order to download this file. I'm thinking maybe I have a setting wrong or some box check marked that prevents the webcam from relaying the other picture back to me. Can you help me figure this one out?

WN, when I try to download the miltilingual 32-bit a message comes up that says: "A newer version of software compatible with this product is already installed. If you want to install this older version please uninstall the newer version first before you continue." also, when I try to download the multilingual 64-bit a message comes up that says: "This product is not designed for your current operating system".

I would try downloading the most recent driver from Logitech. Click HERE. It will ask you what operating system you are using and then give you a choice of 2 files. Download the QuickCam v11.5 file and install. Let me know if this helps.

So you have a newer version of the driver? The driver off the website is the most current driver. Let me know.

You most likely need the need the 32 bit version. If you have time give that one a try and let me know. I will stick with you until I am out of ideas.

I should have said you should uninstall the old driver before installing the new one. Right click on my computer and select properties. Then go to the hardware tab and click on device manager. Once there look for the quickcam and click on it. From there you can choose to uninstall the driver.

Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble with your webcam Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver xp Click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll to image devices expand right click to update driver in W7 http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for IE: webcam name webcam driver you might have to try a few times to get it right software if you dont have the driver you will need to download one here rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html Windows XP/Vista/7/8 It might take some time being a freeware driver solution note: it will find all of your outdated drivers this is a free driver solutions This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Which-version-of-DirectX-is-on-your-computer Hope this helps.

How to to instal logitech webcam

Logitech webcam usually comes with a CD to install software and drivers. If you are using windows 7 your computer should recognize Logitech Webcam when you connect it to your computer's USB port! Its necessary to have internet connection for your computer and Logitech webcam is just plug and play that means!
Just connect the webcam to your computer and remaining is done automatically!
Also drivers for logitech webcam are available online at their site www.logitech.com
good luck!

Audio driver won't work even with different speakers

There are free downloads of driver detection software available that will scan your pc's applications and drivers. They will notify you as to whether or not you need to update a driver, and generally direct you right to a source online where you can obtain it for free. Drivers need to be updated quite often, and with most applications, we are rarely notified.
Finally, there was an issue a year or two ago with Logitech webcams and the Vista operating system. Apparently Vista users would install their Logitech webcams and inadvertently knock out their audio drivers altogether--so it could be something really weird and seemingly non-related.
Below is a link for "Driver Magician" on Cnet (a pretty reputable download site, IMHO).
