I would like to transfer the data from my OZ-770 to a more usable data base format file. Andy K.

Here is a review:

{ ... The most interesting feature of this organizer is that it can download additional programs. You can find plenty of existing programs on Sharp's web site www.mywizard.com. Most of them are pretty basic and uninteresting, certainly not the same variety or commercial quality you would find for a Palm or Windows PDA, but they're free. You can find out more about programming it yourself at www.ozdev.com. You can write your own programs for it on the PC in C or BASIC. It also supports an optional BASIC interpreter so that you can quickly write your own simple programs on the unit. The development kit and BASIC interpreter can be downloaded for free.

The PC interface is a serial port (19.2 kbps speed), a lot slower than USB, but not really a problem for the amount of memory on the unit. (But a potential problem for anyone with one of those new minimal PCs with only USB ports.)

The OZ-770PC package comes with a serial cable and Sharp backup software. The Sharp backup software is pretty basic. You can buy more expensive optional organizer software that supports it, and you can also find shareware on the web that supports it. It is capable of synchronizing with a PC database, ... }

Basically you export is as a text file, and then you can import it into something like Excel in order to convert it to a different format.

CANT GET MY SHARP WIZZARD TO DISPLAY THE CURRENT YEAR

If the pda was made in 2005, it's likely that there is a small watch battery somewhere which saves your settings, date, time, etc.
If this "CMOS battery" needs to be replaced, you're probably losing all of those basic settings whenever you let the main battery lose too much of a charge.
Hopefully, it's easy to access.

Hi there, I Like to upgrade in my I-Mate JAQ OS WM 5 TO OS WM 6,1 or 6,5 if its is possible. Please show me how to do this. Thank you, Aleksandar

Hi, I'm afraid there is no offical or unoffical ROM upgrade for your PDA yet (ROM is the place where the PocketPC operating system is stored, and each device model has a different ROM so sadly you cannot use any other Windows Mobile 6 ROMs with your device.). I am giving more details about this issue to make it clear. Still you can follow the forums time to time to check if someone makes a ROM for your PDA. Basic problem is unlike most of the PDAs, your PDA is a non-HTC based PDA. I hope this helps. You can still download some PDA software to use your device more efficiently (Most of the PDA softwares are designed for working on both WM5 and WM6, since your device uses WM5, you won't be having a problem.).
Details of your PDA: (http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=587&view=1)
Unoffical ROM forum: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349007)

Slow respond

The best solution to these problems is hard resetting your device. A hard reset will bring your PDA to it's factory default state, so your PDA will be as fast as it was when it was brand new. But this process will erase all your stored data (Such as adress book, messaged, appointments, tasks, pictures, ...) so you should consider having a backup of your PDA to your PC with a backup software before you hard reset your device. So later when you hard reset, you can recover the personal data with this backup file and continue using your PDA faster.
To hard reset your PDA, you must press the on/off button and reset button at the same time (reset button is a small button that needs to be pressed with your pen, and usually it is located in the bottom of the PDA). And later, wait a couple of minutes and the windows will be reinstalled and load up with the starting page of the screen alignment. After you completed all the settings, you can recover your data from your backup file (from PC).

P3400 audio manager dosen't play any mp3 and i can't put any mp3 as aring tone

alternately u can do this

if ur phone is HTC P3450 ELF or HTC3452 ELFIN there are 2 versions of this device then go to start >Programs>fileExplorer>select music file u want to set as ringtone, and then long tap on the file for like 4 sec a menu will appear u can select set as ringtone and ur file will be set it is the std procedure for it

and about that HTC audio manager u can check for updated ROM from www.htc.com >ur region >support and then check if new ROM is availble it i will address ur issues of audio manager

but if u really want a new look for ur PDA and want to make it like touch HD then my friend i will suggest this but at ur own risk but the results are really worth it

see this update to CUSTOM ROM for ur pda and u will get more free memory for programs and storage i know it is a big rpoblem in this pda and u will get new look like touch hd

download Hard SPL 3.1 from here

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445666

and then Lite version for ELF from here

first install hard spl 3.1 as directed on ur pda and then update to custom rom from the the file downloaded

pls rate me FIXYA for my response i have lots of tweaks for PDA's

Imate jamin mobile

hi thanks for using fixya!!

You may install programs to your Imate by using ActiveSync, just install first your activesync to you computer and then after the successull installation of the Activesync, connect your Imate to your pc using usb cable, then click activesync from your pc then it will automatically prompt you for your preferred activesync settings.

Then on installing programs, if you have the program in you pc just click the program to run and then it will automatically install it to your pc and PDA, but if you want it to install directly to your PDA, you should copy the program using activesync to your PDA, just save the prorgam file to the internal memory or to the sd memory and then from your PDA you may install it smooth and easy.

If you do not the activesync you may download Here

If you need further, let me know!

Please rate my simple solution positively! thanks!

Visual Studio.NET on PDA

The PDA uses the Compact .NET framework. You develop with Visual Studio .NET on the PC - just start a new Smart Device Project (select Pocket PC, not Windows CE in the second screen)

Using Axim with Linux?

I think the official answer from Dell is that Linux is not supported (as they don't include a conduit for it)....though I have a feeling it can be done.... As for running Linux on the Axim, there hasn't been anything developed yet. Chances are most of the stuff for running Linux on the iPAQ would work for the Axim, though there would have to be some tweaking to account for the hardware variance.
