Model z611 New to me. new 27 ink cartridge. msg. says ink low. will only print windows logo on test page.

Your cartriges are bad they have a printed circuit board on them

    they make them very cheap so they only last so long so they can get you back to the store for a pair of $70 carts you need to replace you ink cartriges you can go into printer options and try changing your color options to black only to get a few more pages but you color is gone -jeff please rate

    you can also try removing the carts and cleaning the contacts on the back if you say its new and then reset the printer and computer -jeff

Need to do a cleaning through the software

    1. Open the cover of the printer and unsnap both cartridges.

    2. Snap them back in after a few seconds. Close the cover.

    3. Repeat these steps (1-2) three or more times in succession. You
      will be prompted to go through the menu on the printer display to
      finish the process. Follow the instructions displayed.


      1. If your printer is posting a LOW INK LEVEL or CHANGE CARTRIDGE
        error, snap the cartridges in and out as directed above (steps 1-3).
        When you close the front cover, you should see the message Cartridge Change - NEW on the display.

      2. Press Select to indicate that you have just installed a new cartridge.

My HP Deskjet F380 will only print blank pages. There is plenty of ink left in both cartridges. I've been on the HP help site. It didn't help. It won't photocopy either. It printed the top part...


the body of text of the test page is black ink. From what you describe, the print heads are clogged. Most HPs use cartridges that have the head built in, but if not used for an externded period they can dry up and clog.
Try repeated head cleanings (10 or more) see if any change. If none, try new HP ink cartridges

Color wont print


It could be that your cartridge needs cleaning. Open the Lexmark Solution Center. Click Start, Programs (Windows XP: All programs), Lexmark Z600 Series. Click the Maintenance tab. Under Select a maintenance tool, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Click Print. If the printed bars in one color fade on either side of the page or are shorter than the other bars, the cartridge is running low on ink of that particular color. If there are thin lines running through the bars or if the diagonal lines at the bottom are broken, the cartridge may need cleaning. Follow these instructions:
  1. Remove the problematic cartridge or cartridges from the printer.

  2. Take a warm damp paper towel and set the ink cartridge right-side-up on it so that the ink nozzles are against the towel.

  3. Hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds.

  4. Wipe the printhead (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean.

  5. Next, dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.

  6. Use a clean part of your dry paper towel to make sure that the cartridges are dry and then snap them back into the printer.

  7. Select Old Cartridge install in the software.

  8. Repeat the Clean Nozzle Page test one more time.

  9. If the problem persists, you may need to replace the cartridge.

My lexmark z611 only prints blank pages with nothing on them, i bought a brand new ink cartridge that is black ink for it and it says it is low on ink for some odd reason but when i print things in color...


Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached. To reattach the cartridge, turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head. Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report. Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.

You mean, the black color is completely absent from the printed page? Either the black cartridge is faulty and needs to be cleaned, or (less likely) the cartridge carriage is faulty.

Try running the "Printer Head Cleanup" routine from the printer manager maintenance menu.

Changed ink cartrigde and printer no longer printing.


microsoft logo is in colour and so its printing while everything else on test page is black so its not printing. the problem is common.you need to do automatic deep cleaning for the ink flow to start once you install new cartridges.go to printer maintanance option and click the option deep cleaning .it will pull out the ink in printer head and it will start working.sometimes also requires cleaning twice. thanks and do not forget to accept the solution.
