Question about Logitech G5

It quit working

I have used a Logitech G5 mouse for 2 years. At first it would quit, lights on mouse fail, and it would work when I pulled it out and re-inserted it. My os is windows me. I've un-installed and re-installed drivers and all I get is mouse lighting up but no fuctions. Do you suggest a 10 or 12 gauge?

The mouse works fine on other computers and I have already tried another mouse. It seems to be OS or hardware at issue.

To tech jenkins...... f*ck you. A mouse should last for years and years. There is no reason why it shouldn't.

To everybody else reading this... now you know why our world is going to ****!! It's because corporations design products to fail on you and people stupid enough like jenkins to keep buying their products. If your mouse has failed you prematurely then i wouldn't buy from that same company again because your just going to be disappointed again!

12, the 10 will just make bb holes, the 12 will blow it to kingdom come.

2 years is a good lifespan of a mouse, go get a new one and hope it lasts that long.

you never specified that it works ok on other computers. Yes it is probably an OS issue as Windows ME was one of the worst versions of windows ever released. Upgrade to XP and I bet the problem will go away. I wouldn't touch Windows ME with a 10 ft pole.

Please rerate this to helpful as I answered your question about your shotgun preference.

Cordless mouse worked fine for over 2 years then just stopped saying the driver was not recognized..Removing the USM numerous times and it started working again for about 30 min and then quit again.

Hello,
I'm assuming that you've already replaced the batteries in your mouse. Usually any cordless mouse has only a year warranty, but you may check with Logitech for a solution or replacement of your product. Logitech does make extraordinarily fine products, and backs them up with excellent online or over-the-phone tech support.

Best of luck to you,
Thomas

Right Click Defected in-game

try switching the right click to another button using setpoint. if the button works perfect then it is the micro switch for the right click contact logitech. if it drops turn off setpoint and try the regular right click if that drops just may be a glitch in the game. check for mouse controls in the game to tune the mouse.

I have a g5 logitech mouse

I had the same mouse, and the exact same problem happened to me, in the middle of Half Life 2, only 5 months after buying it.

Unfortunately I had lost my receipt. If you still have the reciept or proof of purchase, Logitech does have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. You may want to send it to Logitech and get a replacement.

You can try to open the mouse up and see if you can find the component that doesn't allow the right click to work anymore, but it may be difficult to open, and if you are within the 1 year warranty, opening it up will void that warranty. I remember taking a look at it and from my memory there is no screws holding the mouse together and would be a hassle trying to crack it open and try to fix the button. I ended up just going to the store and purchasing a new mouse.

G5 laser mouse has no laser

Try uninstalling the mouse in the device manager and restarting the computer.

And / Or you can visit logitech's support page to see if there is an updated driver.

Let us know what happens.

Logitech V220 cordless mouse won't work

The V220 is a quite nice rodent, my favorite. Check 3 things.

1) Is the battery facing the right way? Minus end goes in first. Green LED should turn on for a few seconds after the battery is installed.

2) Is the mouse ON? The switch under the mouse is supposed to turn on automatically when the receiver is removed. This does not always work.

3) Unplug the USB Receiver. Connect it to a different USB port. Run the Logitech Connect utility.

If the mouse still does not work, uninstall the Setpoint software and reboot. It is possible that the driver did not install correctly. After reboot, try Step 3 again.

Setpoint software is only needed if you want to use the wheel click or horizonal scroll features.

If all else fails, try installing your V220 on a different computer.

Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

Mouse Problem

What you are experiencing is normal wear and tear of the mouse button that is used the most. This is a common issue with mice made for computer manufacturers. Most likely issue is that after 2 years of clicking, the depress switch was actually pushed into the plastic molding below. A new mouse would really be the most effective use of time and resources. I would recommend a high quality mouse from logitech (a g5 or g7) would significantly increase hand comfort, response and posture. Their warranty period is also top notch. Hope this helps.
