What type of coolant mix is needed for an 06' 50cc Vino? It has been sitting and is not starting. The coolant is low. Could that be the problem. The battery is new and I just changed the oil. The temperature light comes on when I try to start it. I am also wondering if old gas could be the problem.

SOURCE: rough start

dear rough start, i would suggest that you check the pilot jet in the carb. they have a very small orfice. this involves removel of carbs and cleaning. but try a carb cleaner that is put in fuel such as sea foam or someting similiar then take the bic for a good run down the highway. its worth a shot could solve the problem.

SOURCE: stihl KM 55 won't start

1. 1st change the spark plug to NGK BPMR 7A.
2. Set the kill switch to on position (I)
3. lock the throttle interlock on
4. Do not prime the fuel bulb...this may cause flooding.
5. set the choke to full choke.
6. pull the cord gently until the piston resists then pull hard
7. repeat pull a second time
8. open choke all the way
9. pull cord again hard.
engine should start within 2-3 pulls, release throttle and feather the throttle until stable

The low coolant came on when I started my 97 Lincoln Cont. today. Any particular type of coolant recommended?

If there was extended life coolant in it you are well beyond the life expectancy of the coolant. Unless you have had it serviced at the ford dealership. I am almost positive that came with the standard green coolant. You can always peek in the reservoir to see what color the coolant is. If it is green it is standard coolant. If it is red it is an extended life. You can mix extended life with regular coolant but you do not want to mix regular coolant with extended life. If you are unable to tell the color than get a coolant labeled "all makes all models". This should be compatible with anything that could be in your ford.

I have Opel Astra 1997 model. Should I mix coolent with water or use only coolent? If, so, the propotion of coolent : water

You should always use a coolant-water mix. Not only does it give you more protection fron freezing temps but it also gives you more protection from heat. Coolant added to water raises the boiling point.
Normally, cars and trucks use a 50-50 mix of water and coolant which is fine for most situations.Any pre-mix coolant is this ratio. Pre-mix does cost a little more but also saves you the hassle of doing your own mixing. You do have to watch if you are doing your own mixing because coolant is toxic. It's sweet smell will attract pets to drink and it can kill them. It does take more than a drop or two but it can so if you spill wipe it up.
Pure coolant jugs will have a label on the back that gives you a ratio of water to coolant based on temperatures. Read across to find an average low or high temperature in your area and read down to see what the recommended coolant to water mix is.
You should also pay attention to type. Coolant comes in 2 colors, green and red(or a version of it). Green is for cast iron engines and red is for engines with aluminum. According to those who know the green stuff will corrode aluminum and therefore the red is designed to be aluminum friendly. Using the wrong coolant could void warranty.
Hope this helps.

What type of coolant should I put in my Caddi and should I mix it with water or not?

You vehicle takes the green stuff. You can get it premixed or straight. If you get the straight stuff you will need to mix it with water at a 50/50 mix. This means if you use 1 gallon of coolant then you need to mix in 1 gallon of water. The premixed stuff you can just put right in no mixing.Hope this helps.Good luck.

What type of coolant to put in

50/50 antifreeze and water. pontiac or GM recommends the use of Dex cool antifreeze but it really doesnt matter. You have to check the color of the coolant orange you need to use extended life, if its green just use regular 50/50

What type of coolant should be put into the engine coolant cylinder

Coolant recommendations and cautions:

The recommended mixture is 50/50 ethylene-glycol and low mineral content water. Never use pure antifreeze. Only Mopar Antifreeze Coolant, 5 Year/100,000 Mile Formula (glycol base coolant with corrosion inhibitors called HOAT) is recommended. This coolant offers the best engine cooling without corrosion when mixed with 50% distilled water.

Antifreeze mixture must always be at least 44%, all climates year round. Maximum protection (-90d) is provided with a 68% mixture protection. If the percentage is lower than 44 percent, engine parts may be eroded by cavitation, and cooling system components may be severely damaged by corrosion.

CAUTION: Mopar Antifreeze/Coolant, 5 Year/100,000 Mile Formula (MS-9769) may not be mixed with any other type of antifreeze. Mixing of coolants other than specified (non-HOAT or other HOAT), may result in engine damage that may not be covered under the new vehicle warranty, and decreased corrosion protection.

CAUTION: Do not use coolant additives that are claimed to improve engine cooling.

Just make sure that the coolant is mixed 50/50. Don't worry about the color. You can buy coolant pre-mixed, which says you the trouble of mixing it yourself. Hope this helped.
