Turntable in new Samsung Microwave is wobbly-- turns OK but goes down if you put something on it away from the teflon rollers.

If the turntable is unstable in the oven, it's most likely an issue with the oven cavity. The tray is probably borosilicate glass, the roller guide is simple, this is something a service tech should see in person. If the oven in still under warranty you should pursue a warranty service call to make sure the oven cavity was not stamped incorrectly. Pleazer Appliance...

My microwave is 25 years old, will it be working to maximum efficiency

If all the settings work and the door closes ok . why throw it out ?. It may not be quite as efficient power wise as a brand new one. the few cents extra to run it against the price of a new one, I would stay with old faithful.

Turntable stopped turning one day last week. Will turn slowly without glass plate on spindle, but not with any weight. Is there a schematic for turntable drive somewhere?

If the oven is STILL heating, but the carousel isn't turning, this problem is commonly attributed to a turntable motor that has worn out and may need to be replaced. The motor is attached to the center plastic piece (called a turntable shaft, turntable ring or coupler) under the middle of the glass tray. The following link explains how to access and replace the motor:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3555716-replacing_a_turntable_motor_on_a_microwa

This is a very simple repair, that usually is not expensive. The price will be determined by the model and manufacturer. This repair can also be performed on an over the range model microwave oven WITHOUT uninstalling it.

You can refer to any of the following websites for comparison:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The first three sites listed have helpful exploded view diagrams to assist you with locating and properly identifying the part(s) you may need.

The average price for a motor is about $25 to $45. If your model number is not listed at all the sites, use the part numbers from the Sears site and use them for your search criteria. The model numbers don't always cross reference, but the part numbers do. The part number for a replacement turn table motor for the model you have listed is WB26X10038 (listed as item 43). If your model number does not cross reference to all websites, use the part number from the Sears website as your search criteria.

NOTE: Even though the carousel may not be turning, you can still use the microwave while awaiting parts. You will need to physically rotate whatever you are heating about midway through the cook time to ensure even heating. Early model microwave ovens were not equipped with a rotating carousel and this was the common procedure.

Microwave oven works, but the turntable does not

Hello there:
This is a common problem with almost all microwaves under the turntable there is a small motor that drives this turntable.
This IS a replaceable part ok and it is not really too hard to do.
To remove this you need to unplug the microwave and remove the plate inside of the microwave
Turn the unit over and then remove the screws that hold in the bottom to the microwave they are located around the edge of the bottom there should be about 6 of them after these are removed the bottom will slide down and now look up in the unit a little bit and you will be able to see small motor that drives the plate that is in the microwave there is 2 wires that hook up to it or some units have only one wire that attaches to it now just remove the wire and remove the motor and take it to a appliance repair center and they will get you a new one they are not that expensive around 25 dollars . now just put in the new motor and screw it in place and try the microwave out if it works great now just put the bottom back on and you are good to go..
However if the unit does not work than there is somthing wrong with the control unit that needs to be repaired ok?
i Hope that this has been very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

I have a gold star above range microwave, mvh1615ww, man. in Sept. 2006, the turntable is not turning, any quick fixes?

Try the TURNTABLE ON/OFF pad. Touch this pad to turn off the turntable or turn it back on. “OFF” will appear in the display when the turntable is turned off.

Do you mean MV1615?

If so, we have the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you. You will need the free Adobe Reader to view or print it.

Turntable will not turn on Microwave

It's usually probably a failed turntable motor, but you should double-check the coupler, too.

We actually have the complete service & repair manual for this model at our site: http://www.microwavedisplay.cm/r930ak_aw_sm.pdf

You can order a new motor via Tritronics at http://www.wehaveparts.com
