Question about Lexmark E232 Laser Printer

2 Answers

Paper curl Lexmark E232 laser printer - no matter which way I load the "curl" - I will get about 4 or 5 pages at the beginning of the document which will come out curling down - then the pages begin to eject with "wings" - curled up dramatically - and each new sheet pushes the already printed sheets all over the desk - so that the document gets out of order, and causes all kinds of grief. I've tried three or four different brands of paper, from really inexpensive to the top quality, but the problem remains. Any ideas?

When a paper jam occurs, the printer will stop printing and the Continue (1) and Paper Jam (2) lights on the operator panel will come on. See the illustration below.
paper curl - pattlnk_1052005_1635-enus20238_oppaneljamlights_e230_en_us.gif When you experience a paper jam, it is recommended that you check and clear the entire paper path. To clear a paper jam, do the following:

  1. If you are feeding paper from a paper tray, first remove the tray. Look for and remove any jammed or damaged paper you find.

  2. Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

    IMPORTANT!
Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light, especially sunlight, for an extended period of time. Extended exposure to light will damage the green photoconductor roller and cause print quality problems.

  3. Remove any paper you find jammed in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

  4. Also lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any paper you find jammed beneath the flap.

  5. Open the rear exit door/cover of the printer and remove any jammed paper you find there.

  6. Once you have confirmed that the entire paper path is clear, reinstall the print cartridge assembly. Close all the printer covers/doors. Reinstall any paper trays you removed.
  7. Press the Continue button to resume printing. NOTE: The printer should reprint the page(s) that caused the paper jam.
  8. If the paper continues to jam, press the Continue button twice quickly while the Continue and Paper Jam lights are on. This will cause the operator panel to display the secondary error paper jam light sequence. The secondary error code will tell you where the printer thinks the problem has arisen. For more information, see the 'Secondary Error Codes' section on page 69 of the User's Guide.

There is an obstruction in the paper path, if you can remove or open up your unit and see for any sign of small piece(s) of paper stucked up, this could cause this prob, or any caked toner or residual ink that has hardened overtime...

cheers

Hi, My Lexmark E232 printer is on but will not print. The light second from the bottom is orange. Help!!

That second from the bottom orange light indicates a paper jam. Press Continue to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path. Press Continue twice quickly to see the secondary error code. See "Secondary error codes" on page 69 of the user manual for more information.

Multiple page print job doesn't finish when paper runs out

This printer should continue to work one paper is added. If not hitting the continue button (Top silver button with an exclamation mark on it) should allow it to resume.

After that can you tell me what the blink sequence is being displayed on the panel?

Paper jams no matter what stock I use; Lexmark e232

Slipping paper feed rollers is probably causing the jamming. Remove the paper tray and tip the machine back so that you can access the feed rollers from underneath. A good technique to isolate this problem is to remove the rubber feed tires, turn them inside-out and refit them. If it now works OK you need to get new feed rollers.

In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer....
Good Luck

Software issue for the printer. Uninstall driver and reinstall. If this does not solve it, it may be time for a new printer. Lexmark printers do not have a long service life.
