Go to the Dell WEB site and get a Recovery CD for your model Dell computer. Boot up your computer with the Recovery CD to get your computer back to the out of the box condition.
Turn your computer off and then turn it on. Read on the first black screen to see which key will take you to the BIOS set up. In most cases its F2 or DEL buttons. When you are in the BIOS setup, on the list that comes up firstly, look for LOAD DEFAULT SETTINGS/VALUES. This will surely restore the factory settings
Turn off the computer, wait a few seconds and then turn it back on. As the computer starts up, press the F8 key until you see the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appear.
Select the "Repair Your Computer" option and press the "Enter" key.
Click the "Next" button, log in with your Administrator username and password and click the "Dell Factory Image Restore" option.
Click "Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition" and click the "Next" button.
Click the "Finish" button. The computer will restart in its original factory condition.k
Note: Kindly back up all necessary documents before starting restoration as it would be deleted.
There is no user guide for the 1200 but there is one for the 1210 model, the software should almost be identical, try looking at the 1210 user manual on how to factory restore it and it should be the same, all else fails call them up here is the manual for the 1210: http://www.binatonetelecom.com/products/digital-cordless-phones/veva-1210
do a system back up first to save the drivers,switch off,then on while holding down the del button this takes you into the bios factory settings,check settings and it will say restore to factory setting
If you have the retore disk, this will be your best option. Not only will it restore your system but also put the recovery partition back on your hard drive.
For (Operating Systems=windows98,xp,vista)
unless you have a custom program to do this you can only restore back using (system restore) however that will not restore it to factory settings..
the best way is simply re-installing the Operating system after Formatting your entire Harddisk space (all partitions)
If you don't know how to do it.. then simple follow the instructions after booting the windows CD
PS: to boot windowsxp cd you have to set BIOS settings (F2 or F10 or Del Button at start of computer)
to boot CD before HDD..
There is no simple restore factory settings in Laptops
reboot or Reset if u are asking to reset ur notebook to factory default ALL DATA WILL BE ERASED FIRST BACKUP UR DATA then here is the procedure without disk
if using XP
1 Turn on the computer.
2 When the Dell
splash screen appears during the computer startup process, press and
hold <Ctrl> and then press <F11>. Then, release both keys
at the same time. NOTE: Some systems like Inspiron Mini 9 (910) do not support System Restore as they do not have <F11> nor any substitute.
3 In the Dell PC Restore by Symantec window, click Restore. Alternatively, press <Tab> to highlight Restore, and then press <Enter>.
4 When a warning message appears stating that all data will be lost, click Confirm, or press <Tab> to highlight Confirm and then press <Enter>.
The Progress window will appear. Once the restore process starts, Dell PC Restore by Symantec usually takes about 8 to 10 minutes to finish.
When the restore process is complete, the following message will appear: The system recovery process was successful.
5 Click Finish or press <Tab> to highlight Finish and then press <Enter> to restart the computer. The software is now installed as it was when the computer was first received.
IF WIN VISTA
1 Turn on the computer.
2 As the computer starts, press <F8> on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen. Note:
You must press <F8> before the Windows logo appears on the
screen. If you press <F8> after the Windows logo appears on the
screen, the Advanced Boot Options menu will not appear on the screen. If you do not see the Advanced Boot Options menu, restart the computer, and then repeat this step until you see the menu on the screen.
3 Press the <Down Arrow> on the keyboard to select Repair Your Computer on the Advanced Boot Options menu, and then press <Enter>.
4 Specify the language settings that you want, and then click Next.
5 Log in as a user who has administrative credentials, and then click OK.
6 Click Dell Factory Image Restore.
7 In the Dell Factory Image Restore window, click Next.
8 Click to select the Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition check box.
9 Click Next. The computer is restored to the default factory configuration.
10 When the restore operation is completed, click Finish to restart the computer.
The software is now installed as it was when the computer was first received.
