Singer simple squeeks[chirps] like it needs oil- I dont find any way to oil except to remove bottom plate,which didn't help

Suggest you oil every tiny hole you can see. Singer machine oil is a light oil, works on any machine. Remove the stitch plate, and oil more. Also, oil the right end of your machine, which could require removing that cover plate. With a small slot-head screwdriver. Just oil Everything! Swing out the ? - access plate on the left, and drip oil into any and everything that moves. Hope this helps.

Singer website has many manuals available as pdfs including yours, oiling is shown in this image after you remove the hook race cover and hook. Most front loading bobbin design machines are like this.

You can remove screws bottom plate, however, unless you are mechanically inclined, I would take in for service. Lay machine back on soft cloth or old towel. Don't lose screws! Oil moving parts one drop good quality sewing machine only and use Singrr lubricant on gears. If you don't have oil or lubricant, you can blow hair dryer 1-2 minutes and put plate back on. Never oil or lubricate plastic parts! One drop oil on shuttle hook, Run scrap to distrubute oil before sewing on project fabric ! Jimmy

Put just one drop of good quality sewing machine oil on moving parts. You can set machine back gently on towel. Remove bottom plate by removing each screw. Set each screw in a bowl so they don't roll anywhere. I have 30 years experience, so I personally run my machines when oiling so I can observe the parts that move. I d on't recommend this if you have pets & children, and leave that up to you! You should probably unplug machine and just look for anything that is NOT a gear, and just put one drop oil on those parts. Singer lubricant should go on actual gears, but ONLY if not already "greasy". Reassemble bottom plate. If your machine left front section opens up, one drop on those moving parts, and smear one drop of oil on hook. One drop top of needle bar. Do NOT oil or lube plastic parts. Never use cooking oil or bath oil; it will coagulate & damage machine. Always run machine with a scrap of fabric for a bit to distribute oil and to make sure excess does not get on your good fabric. Then rethread machine and replace bobbin and put fresh needle in. Yes, removed thread, bobbin, and needle BEFORE you lube & oil. Did this help? Best of days and nights sewing, Jimmy

here's something to check
is the needle inserted all the way in to the needle holder?
needle--flat side goes to the back of the machine
is the needle clamp screw tight or loose?
if the needle is correctly in the needle holder & the needle clamp screw is tight --then the needle bar is out of time & need to be serviced
IF YOU DO HAVE TO TAKE IT TO BE SERVICED AFTER YOU GET IT HOME STOP RIGHT THEN & SEW ON THE MACHINE TO MAKE SURE THEY FIXED THE MACHINE & IT SEWS LIKE IT SUPPOSE TO, I HAD ONE CUSTOMER THAT TOOK THEIR MACHINE TO A SHOP & THEY CLEANED IT AGAIN & DIDN'T FIX IT BUT CHARGED THEM FOR IT & THEY BROUGHT IT TO ME TO FIX & IT HAD TO BE RETIME

Have you got the flywheel clutch fully engaged on it? I think this is the flywheel inner and outer on the Singers but if you've got the manual it should describe how.

If you want some help to get it going I'd suggest you join a Yahoo group of Singer enthusiasts and ask for a bit of help there, they love their old machines and some members are very knowledgable and happy to share. There is several groups "Singers" "Vintagesingers" or "Wefixit" so you might want to join a couple and lurk around the message boards, there is lots of really helpful info in files and photos too.

It may be that you've got oil onto the drive belt or something really simple - I'm not a Singer expert though and don't know their models real well but there are lots of classic Singer enthusiasts out there on these groups.

If you look at the bobbin area with the bobbin case out you will notice a finger that will be swinging around and will settle at bottom when the machine is setting on a table. This finger needs to be pointing straight up at the 12 o'clock position, in the slot in the bottom of the stitch plate. When you remove the plate, it swings down and you may not notice. Lift the plate and fit the finger into the slot between the two bumpers on the bottom of the plate and I'll bet it will sew again.

all newer machines require little maintence except in the bobbin area, and the area above the needle. simply place a few drops on the shaft that allows the needle to go up and down and keep lint free, you can use canned air for this. The area below the cover plate and the bobbin case need cleaned after every 8 to 10 hours of sewing. you can remove the cover plate by removing the two screws the plate should lift up so you can clean the feeddogs and bottom of plate, if you remove the bobbin at the same time you can clean this area and oil the center of bobbin area of machine , oil any parts the move or have oil ports, these are very small and look like a nut with a hole in the center, one or two drops are all that is needed. replace all parts and test a scrap piece to make sure no oil gets on current project.

For tawnydog make sure you needle is in correctly. For you and icklescher it sounds like your timing could be off. I don't have a machine like this one but you shoudl be able to open up the machine, removing bottom plate and opening plate on left side panel Watch as you your needle bar comes down and see how it hits. If you were sewing and broke a needle you could have jarred it out of sync. Sorry that is the best I can give without seeing it.
