Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W1 Digital Camera

Is full EXIF available for W1? Menu Items

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I've just started working with a W1, which I believe is a little gem. What I'm looking for is additional EXIF data and I do not know if it is stored with the W1 pics or what program I need to view it. Specifically I'm looking for White Balance and other adjustments available in MENU. Focal length would also be nice. As I have a Canon camera I have been using Zoom Browser so that may be a limitation. Zoom Browser gives me the following EXIF info from a W1 shot. File Name DSC00554.JPG Camera Model Name DSC-W1 Shooting Date/Time 15/06/05 9:59:49 AM Tv (Shutter Speed) 1/400 Av (Aperture Value) 5.6 Exposure Compensation 0 ISO Speed 100 Image Size 2592x1944 Flash Off Color Space sRGB File Size 2217KB Owner's Name Files from a 10D and earler G3 also give me additional items like White Balance Lens focal length (either native or converted to 35mm ref) And also other "adjustment" info. EXTRACT FROM 10D Focal Length 190.0mm White Balance Mode Auto AF Mode One-Shot AF Parameters Settings Contrast Standard Sharpness Mid. High Color saturation Standard Color tone 0 Any help greatly apprecialted.

You might try the free exif viewer: Once installed, just Right Click on your image and select View Exif

D7000 will not deface your photographs by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with each image in the file's EXIF metadata.
If you want to print this information, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your photos. Depending on the program and printer, you may print this information on the image, in the margins, or on the back. For example, if you're creating a DPOF on the D7000 itself, the instructions are in the "Creating a DPOF Print Order: Print Set" section of the camera manual (page 189 in my copy).

I've had the Samsung L200 with the same Panasonic 1GB memory card for the last 3 years and it's been great, but all of a sudden today it started saying 'memory full' after only taking a few...

The camera is telling you that the internal memory is full. To get your card to work, you must clear it. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, your card should work unless you formatted it in the computer, in which case you'll have to format (completely erases it) it in the camera.

Hi I have a Pentax Optio W10; would like to know how to date stamp pics. I did not see how to do this in the manual; is it possible to do?

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Unable to install Lumix digital camera software using Vista

First do a clean uninstall with the Windows Installer Clean up utility, after you remove the programs from your add/remove menu.
Then try inserting the cd, and going to explore it manually, look for a setup file that says vista on it, try installing that way.

Hope this might jump start the fix, I don't have vista =S

I found an online manual for your camera. Page 84 talks about the USB Mode Normal with the 4 dots underneath. It also show a troubleshooting area for this and it is on page 96. Hopefully this will get your camera working right again. Here is the link to the pdf manual.

W1 underwater

There is a generic "all-in-one" housing by Equinox that will hold the W1. Very basic controls, altho if you pay more you can get a custom. Haven't heard anyone's reviews on the housing tho. see here,

W1 Sharpening

I think I read somewhere that pictures came out too soft and therefore sharpness should be set to +. You need to use an image viewing application that can show the photo's EXIF data.
