Make sure the P300 has completed the boot process before attaching the PC Card Expansion Jacket. This will ensure proper detection.

It does not recognize an 8gb sd card in storage expansion.

Your netbook should read SDHC(over 2 GB capacity) memory cards. The problem might be either the card slot driver, Which you should download if a newer one is available. Or in case you format the SD as DOS then it will only have around 2GB of space, You should format it as DOS32 or NTFS so you get the full capacity for the SD card. Some pirated rather cheaper memory cards have a lower actual capacity. With some compression technique the capacity presented is higher than it actually is. If you format it then it will show the real capacity. hope that is not the case!

Good Luck!

It's not a phone. It's a pocket PC.

1. Locate the appropriate slot on the top of the iPAQ Pocket PC.
To identify slot locations, refer to the Getting Started

2. Before inserting a CompactFlash (CF) card into the CF
expansion slot, pull the plastic slot cover from the CF slot.

and push the connection edge of the card firmly into the
expansion slot.
✎If your expansion card is not recognized, follow the card
manufacturer’s instructions to install it.

You can prevent this issue by making sure the P300 is turned on before putting it in the cradle. This is limitation of the current operating system.

The P300 has 3 kinds of reset mechanisms, 1. Soft Reset: you can keep all DRAM data. Procedure: Push the Reset button 2. Hard Reset/Save SDRAM -- Use hard reset/save SDRAM mode to reset the MobilePro P300 without losing the data in SDRAM. Use this mode if the safe software reset mode doesn't improve system operation. Procedure: Reset Button and Power Buttons at the same time. 3. Hard Reset/ Clear SDRAM: You will lose all data. Use to reset the MobilePro P300 and delete the contents of SDRAM. Use this mode to reset the MobilePro P300 to its factory defaults. This is also referred to as a hard reset/clear SDRAM. **Caution** This procedure will delete all user installed applications and user data.
