The laptop is not powering on. Even main supply indicator is not glowing when it is plugged to the main. I had used it late night one day, it had just no problem till then, but the next morning it was not powering on. I wonder what may have gone wrong. I took it to local Acer Service Centre. They said that its a motherbopard problem. But I noticed that while they were diagnosing the problem, the main supply indicator did glow a couple of times.

You can check the cables if are connected properly. if it still didn't work take the tower to someone elses house and try to connect the tower with his computer, if still didn't work contact hardware vendor

Try removing the battery and power supply, hold the power button for about 10 seconds then just plug the power supply back in (not the battery) and see if it turns on. Holding the power button with no power supply can discharge any stored power in capacitors.
U have power to the tv is that correct?Yes?Power led light indication solid green,when tv is on but u have a blank screen no picture to the LCD screen panel at all?Yes?Than this problems it is not the tv power supply board problems.The tv Tuner signal board is it the cause and the problems.That the board where the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.This board are 90%-95% are not repairable or troubleshoot able,because it almost all micro components parts and micro chips and most of them are surface mounted it on.This tv Tuner signal board can be only replaced with a new whole refurbish one only.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.
It sounds like the Infrared LED are not on (there are 8 of them on the fornt of the unit), it should automatically turns on when it senses dark scene. You can find out at night using the digital camera pointing at the LEDs, you should see white glow on your digital camera.
The problem can be caused by the power supply that supplies the power the LED assemblies or the detector circuits that suppose to turn on the LED when the surrounding area is dark has failed.
glow pug indicator and glow plug themself are 2 seperate system
test for power at the glow plug harness conector 1 each side over valve cover
test light clamp on batery neg test each wire going to relay for power on both side
then quick check on glow plug end test light clamp on positive test all wires
going to glow pug on each side f this does ligtht up the test light system should be o.k.
for the FICM i have used a hair blower on hi to warm the surface of if to start up a few of
these motors to get them back to the yard for replacment afterward
run a ffeet of these from 250 to 550 lots of problem and work 26 units

The fact that the laptop is recognising the battery's presence and yet is not receiving any power from it is not a good sign I'm afraid. There are batteries available online for around £40 but you may want to take the laptop to a repair centre first where they can usually tell you (for around £7-£10) if it is definitely a battery malfunction or not before you splash out on a new one. Sorry I can't be any more help, battery issues are usually pretty black and white, they're either broken or working. Hope you manage to get it sorted either way.
Printed installation manual of Seagate 500 GB eSATA external hard drive has not properly mentioned how to use power on/off switch once connected to mains. I could get local help, who has already used the device. On/Off switch to be pressed for few seconds after mains connected, sometimes it comes automatically once power is on and USB cable pluged to the USB port of PC if power supply is ok. There is no indicator for the power supply (before device glows) after connected to the mains. I was in confusion whether power supply is ok or not.
Finally, It was found that the problem was with mains power supply and I have changed the power socket and adapter.
