Re: Remove the LCD protection cover

There are two round pins on the top of the MobilePro P300 protection cover. You must pinch the two pins together in order to release the hinge and remove or replace the cover from the unit.

I lost the sensitivity because of some moisture formed inside the screen.. How much it costs to replace the screen?

Hi,before replacing the screen, why don't you dry out the LCD screen to get rid of the moisture, you can use a hand dryer to dry out the moisture of the screen after taking it out.If after drying the screen the problem remains, then you can go ahead to get a new screen.
Here is a detailed step on how to dissassemble your P1i;
STEP 1 Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, Phillips size 0 screwdriver
  • First remove the battery cover, battery, memory card and stylus. Remove the three screws you see
STEP 2 Run your fingernail around the join of the back cover and then pry the back cover off
STEP 3 Now remove the two screws you can see at the top of the phone
STEP 4
  • Now run your fingernail along the join of the front cover and you'll hear the clips, which hold the cover on, click. The front cover is on quite tight so use some force to pry the cover off
STEP 5 Remove the keypad and lift the part underneath from right to left, this will reveal two more screws. Remove these screws
STEP 6 Remove the metal plate that the screws were holding in place and you now have access to the ribbon which attaches the screen to the circuit board
STEP 7
  • Detach the ribbon to remove the LCD screen. The ribbon attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift the ribbon up away from the circuit board to detach it
STEP 8 You have now removed the LCD screen then you dry, Reverse the whole process to reassemble. However, the LCD screen costs $92.if you have the reason to purchase it.
Thanks and take care

MY BLACKBERRY BOLD 9000 SOMETIMES DISPLAY WHITE SCREEN WITH MULTIPLE LINES THEN AFTER 15 MINUTES IT BECOMES OK

Hello,

Did the phone drop from you? anyway, the screen of your Bold 9000 is malfunctioning, i suggest you get a torx 6 screw driver by your side.

Turn off your phone, remove the battery cover and battery.

Turn the fone over and remove the front cover with your screw driver, pull off the front cover and afirm the LCD screen very well to the panel of the phone, recouple back to test, if it is still same thing, i suggest you change the LCD screen of your Bold 9000.

But if you can do all this, i advive you get a technician or somebody who can do it for you.

Best regards.

You should be able to get a replacement screen from http://www.rmslogisticslp.com. If so and you want to replace it yourself, here are some steps. You will have to do some soldering. I found these instructions when looking for help on my pantech so I am just passing on this help. If you aren't comfortable doing the work yourself then RMS Logistics may be able to help. You can also check with your provider for a store near you that services phones for that provider.

This not a job for just anyone it will require some soldering on the circuit board. If you don't know how then it would be best to ship it off.

The steps to take apart the phone.
1. take the battery and Sim card out.
2. remove the molding place that surrounds the camera lens. It just snaps in. At first it did not look like it come off but is does.
3. remove 6 (six) tiny screws from the back of the phone.
4. lift the circuit board and carefully unplug the board in the next section. place the circuit board to the side.
5. Remove 4 silver screws, hold this piece to one of the sliders. - set this piece to the side.
6. remove 4 screws for the corners of this piece. two of the screws have covers over them
7. Ok this was a pain both getting it out and back in. you should see a circuit board and mic. The Mic is solder to the board and stuck to the piece below with stick-em. Carefully left the mic off do not break the wires - you just want it loose. Now lift the circuit board and carefully unplug the next circuit board. Set the circuit board and mic to the side
7. Remove 4 black screws hold the next slider in place.
8. Ok, you're down to the LCD piece. Again remove 4 screws in the corners. 2 of them have 1 long cover piece covering them.
9. remove the LCD piece, unsolder the speaker.
10. Solder the speaker just removed to the new LCD piece. and reverse the steps the reassemble.

***********************************************

Hope this helps.

You just need the touch screen (digitizer). There are actually 2 pieces that are mistaken to be the screen. The other piece is the touch screen and beneath that is the LCD display. Be certain to order the correct piece.

To replace, you need a micro phillips head screw driver and a T-6 torx screw driver. Also patience, and a steady hand.

You must start at the back of the device, through the battery door. Remove the 2 micro phillips at the top of the battery opening (one is covered with a tamper evidence sticker). Then carefully, starting at the bottom of the camera plate, pry upwards and to the speaker to unsnap the smaller facing. Remove the camera by gentally pulling up to unplug, then unscrew the circuitry and remove. This will expose the 4 torxs (2 in batt opening) to remove the back cover. After screws are removed, gentally work the covers snaps loose around perimeter and remove (pay attention to the speaker wire) unplug it from the circuitboard. Pull the antenna nub to detach.

Remove the screws holding the circuitboard, unpluging the keyboard and slider ribbon cable. Gentally hold the ribbon cable and remove the securing tape. (dont pull too hard!) Pulling the circuitboard exposes the 4 micro phillips screws (2 each side) to detach the slider.

Remove the 4 torx screws on the back of the LCD slider, then gentally pry around to separate the housing.

To remove the LCD / Touch screen you must unplug the ribbon cables. To do this you need to open the connector's trap (black bar). It hinges. Just pry upwards from the ribbon side. Once bar is lifted ribbon will slide out. Be careful if you need to remove the gold foil tape. Remove the single screw holding the ear speaker, and the ribbon should come out. The screen will not come out after gentally prying it free of the holding snaps in the casing.

Installation is simply the reserve. Hope this helps....
