Tried changing channels and all channels muted. Resolves itself after a few minutes, but very irritating. Anyone know how to fix this?

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Check to ensure that you have not muted the TV. If you have an external audio source attached, check to see if it will pass the audio.

Conduct a rest of the TV to see if the audio returns. This procedure is described in the user manual.

When switched on there is no sound at all

Check the audio settings. Whether it is muted or volume is at '0' stage. Check the speakers. Check the audio output section circuit.

Game sound doesn't work

Hello..

What you are experiencing is as a result of bad audio connection.

Please Check the mute function on your TV or audio system if there is no sound

Check the audio settings of your device to make sure it "sees" the PS3. Also make sure you are using the correct audio cables and they are properly connected.

Make sure the input mode on your TV is compatible with the connectors used by the PS3

Also check the audio settings of the game you are playing..

LG 32LX3DC TV sound stopped working

Hello cadillaczacc,

This could be you audio out put stage malfunctioning. As a test connect a head set to you RCA connectors for audio (Red and White RCA Audio out jacks) and see if there is sound (there should not be if the audio amp has malfunctioned). In addition check your setup menu to make sure the TV is not on mute mode. If the TV is not on mute and you do not hear sound from the headset connected to the audio out RCA jacks, then we can start looking at the possibility of an internal circuit problem.

I have the schematic so if you need help, and have a background in electronics, we can get this fixed. If you do not have a background in electronics I would suggest getting a qualified TV technician to fix this TV for you.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

No Sound Issues

Hello!
Try the audio out. Run the audio to a receiver to see if the audio is there. If it is, then I'd leave it hooked up to the receiver and save yourself some money. If there is not any low level audio out then I'd fix the set. The only Sony set I've ever seen that was not worth fixing was a 32" model from the early 1990's that had bad picture tubes after only 5 years. I am a Sony factory trained tech. Good Luck!

Audio

Hello storymn,

This problem looks as if it can be you audio output amplifier stage of your TV. Also I would suggest shecking your remote and setup menu to make sure you are not in mute mode, this has happened at times. So your troubleshooting checklist is:

1) check the setup menu and remote to see if the TV is in mute mode

2) if you have the equipment check the audio at the output jack and the speaker.

3) unplug the set, take the back off and inspect the connections to the speaker.

*Only do the following if you have a background in electronics

4) Plug the set in and with a small audio amplifier check the output of the audio output stage if sound is present the check the circuitry on that path. If there is no sound the audio output IC or amplifier should be suspect in causing this problem.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
