I just bought my TV in May and my friends son stepped on the remote. A thing came up saying I needed a parental control code. I ignored it, thinking it would go away, about 10 seconds later a message came up saying 'Input locked' and now my tv will turn on and have the 'VIZIO' appear then power down again. What the heck? I've called customer service but that was no help...anyone else have that??
Did you ever find a solution to this problem???? This just happened to my TV =(Did you ever find a solution to this problem???? This just happened to my TV =(

You would need a remote---with that if all else fails there is a way to release the parental control by doing a reset using the option menu, let me know as with the Mitsubishi remote and a 4 number code you can get to the OPTION menu and reset this set.
These are the steps to unlock Apex TVsApex TVs have parental locks that allow you to block certain
programs based on their rating. When this
feature is no longer needed and you want your TV to display all programming no
matter its rating, you must unlock your TV. Unlocking your Apex TV is done
completely from your remote control and does not require any tools. The process
takes less than 5 minutes. • Press the
"Menu" button on the remote control and use the arrow buttons to
scroll down to the "Parental Guide" option, then press the
"Enter" button. Type in the default parental code "6688" if you have not
set your own code. If you have set your own code, type it in. If you set your
own code and forgot it, override it by using "6688." Use the arrow keys to switch the parental lock to "OFF."
This allows all programs to be viewed no matter the rating. Press the
"Exit" button on the remote and start watching all your channels.
do you know the code? if not, do the following in this order: press 'select' button-->enter 7444-->enter new code-->re-enter new code-->scroll down to select parental control level or select 'off ' to disable it.
make sure you have AV button activated......looks to me ur son pushed TV .......if so just push AV on ur set and all will work again.....if u cant find it on ur set ,,, it will be on ur remote control
You need to have the DVD dongle that plugs into the front of the Xbox in order to play DVD's. If you do have that, any universal remote should work on it, I use a GE AllinOne universal with mine, I think the program code is 000 or 0000.
Or, if its the lock thats getting you down...
Here is the procedure to reset the parental lock code:
From the XBOX dashboard screen, go to settings and then parental control.
When prompted for the password, perform the following sequence using the XBOX controller: X, Y, Left Trigger, X.
Enter in a new password, or disable parental control entirely.
ok first go to the DVD setup which should be located near the bottom of the remote is says SETUP. Then it will give you a list of options go to the one with the parental code one. Then you should try and change the password. My tvs old password was 8888 but I am not sure if it is the same on all tv's. If it is right then you should be able to change the password to whatever you want! I hope this helps anyone who sees this response!
