Inop or maladjusted? Maybe it's the cables, the shifter itself or the derailleur. Either way, you can see it and we can't. Search the web for "derailleur adjustment" for a start. Other queries will also find immediate answers, some with videos. You don't need to get us involved.

Gear shift Selector stuck

These were known for having faulty brake light switche that would cause that problem as well as cruise control inop. I would check that first. It operates the shift-lock solenoid which releases the shifter. There were also some problems with the ignition switches, but mostly on the gm cars.

2008 rhino 700 stays in low range even when shifter is in high revers light stays on and speedometer inop

Check the gear change lever where it joins onto the side of the engine/gear box. Could have slipped off or stripped the splined shaft. If that is fine and when you move the hi/lo range, and the shaft on the gearbox moves its possible the gear change mechanical levers have broken on the inside of the box.

Why does my gear shift lock?

brake shift interlock. Have to step on brake to get shifter out of park. For safety to prevent unintended acceleration.

See owner manual for emergency bypass, if fuse goes or brake pedal switch is inop.

Stuck in park

vehicle has a brake inter-lock system where depressing the brake pedal closes a pedal switch then energizes a solenoid in the shifter housing which will permit shifter movement(the pink lever is a manual over-ride in the event this sytem becomes inoperative). I would check brake pedal switch and a voltage signal to the solenoid when depressing which should isolate the inoperative component or missing voltage.
