I bought a delta sewing machine from Aldi some years ago but having trouble changing the needle, thread keeps breaking..

Is the needle inserted correctly? It should not be difficult to change it. Here are some reasons for thread breaking. OLD thread, cheap thread, wrong thread for material and wrong needle size for material. Incorrect tension for material being sewn. Needle bent or too old. Hope this helps :-)

Why thread keeps breaking while sewing

Could bethat the machine is not threaded correctly, this is an easy mistake that happens to even experienced sewers. oir the tension is too tight for the material Or the thread is too thick for the needle Use bigger needle or finer thread. The needle nay not be inserted properly. Not far enough up the shaft or the flat side is incorrect. The needle could be blunt or damged or the thread is old and minutely knotted.

The first needle thread keeps breaking as it is sewing, while it has material under it, it seems to work for a while but as soon as the material is finished the thread breaks. I've changed thread, changed...

could the tension be adjusted to tightly
is thread feeding off cone/spool freely
also check to see if there are any burrs on the loopers or on the throat plate
here's a tip I learned from a needle & thread expert about needle & thread compatability

Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

The needle on my bernina 180 artista is hitting the hook when sewing, causing the thread or the needle to break. How do I fix this

I agree with Rick, it could be several things. It's not something a person can just start loosening screws and trying to line things up, you can do more harm then good trying to fix it yourself without the proper tools, take it to a local dealer for service!

THE NEEDLE WILL NOT CATCH TO SEW MATERIAL

Most likely, the needle is not inserted correctly. You don't say what kind of machne you are using, but every one has a different needle insertion. . Some thread front to back, some left to right, and some have an indentation just above the threadhole.. Also, if the needle is not perfectly lined up, it won't thread, or sometimnes, if the bobbin is not inserted correctly, it won't thread.Check your threading diagram, and pay close attention to the needle position.Good luck!

The needles on my Janome 9102D keep breaking

I had a similar problem with my machine. What I've started doing with mine is setting the stitch length at 3 and the differential feed ratio at 1.0 then I set all 4 thread tensions at 3. I thread the machine from right to left, and then when everything seems to be working okay I take scrap material to test the tension and then set them to suit the material I'm using. Right now I'm working with a twill so my settings are 4-4-5-5. This seems to have stopped the thread slipping off the bottom looper and I haven't had any more needles break. I hope this is helpful.

Thread continually breaking in lower looper needle

I was having this very same problem with my lower looper . I had been using the one needle stitching all afternoon and I was doing quite nice stitching. then I decided to put the right needle back in and do some overlock stitching and guess what I spent the next two hours fighting the looper problem. I had completely re-thread this machine at least 20 times now. I decided to take the needle out and re-insert it and re-thread it one more time (right lower looper- then upper looper- right needle- then left needle) was careful to pull all threads to the back and under the presser foot for about 6 inches.
Held on to the thread, lowered presser foot and did the chaining stitch. BINGO it didn't break, tried it with a piece of cloth and Perfect stitches. I have a Babylock BL402 and used tension settings left to right
4-3-3-3 and default settings for the rest.
Hope this helps someone someday.
