Sorry if I am coming into this early, but I had the same problem with my Acer Extensa 4420. Eventually, after tons of forum threads, I found that the same chip that's in the Acer computers is also in some Dell computers. Just ignore the fact that it says it's by Dell and download this:
Then, extract the files to a folder and from device manager, and point 'Network Controller' (or whatever your wireless adapter is named in device manager) to that folder.

I am assuming that you downgraded to Windows XP. For the WinXP sound driver of a Realtek Audio as used in an Acer Aspire 4315, pls try (ftp://184.108.40.206/pc/audio/WDM_A405.exe). Should you still want the Vista driver, pls download from here.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
