Hello
I havent seen that problem with Outlook Express just with Microsoft Outlook. but this solution should work with outlook express to.
here how you solv it. you need to remove the outbox file manually. remember that all your outbox files gonna be deleted.
step by step.
1.close outlook express
2. go to C:\Documents and Settings\"your user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\("alot of numbers here.->"{7850C6E6-099E-4EFD-A3F5-A88CA4FC6169}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\

* if you can find Local settings you need to show hidden files!
a. go to tools>folder options->view-> mark show hidden files and folders-> ok

3.in the map outlook express delete the outbox.dbx or move it somewhere.

4. try now to start the outlook express and the outbox should be empty.

good luck.

Sent Messages are stuck in Outbox and many copies are sent

You may have removed some items from your sent box as you are saying but it still may reflect a size larger than its capacity.

Go to tools-options-maintenance-store folder: Copy the location in there and place it into your "run". this will open up the folder for the .DBX files. If "Sent Items.dbx" is larger than 2G there is your issue, you have no more space to hold sent items, hence it is going out but not moving to the "sent" box.

I HAVE A LARGE FILE OF PICTURES IN THE OUTBOX IN OUTLOOK EXPRESS

you can press ctrl delete and the alt key at the same time it will bring up a window depending on your current software this window and options therein are different but after doing this you are looking for a tAb labeled as task manager open this tab. after doing so in the window that appears will be a tab at the top that indicates applications processes performance and networking click the applications tab if internet explorer or your email is not there click the processes tab upon finding internet explorer right click and select end process tree. in doing so you will force all processes to stop at that time you may reopen IE or restart your computer.
