Question about LG KU990 Viewty

SYNC LGKU990 to PC

Hi,
i have ben trying to sync my mobile phone to my pc and it is really frustrating, it is coming up with this error message:-

Contacts : Synchronise ( MS Outlook )

Initialize connection with MS Outlook (I)

Calendars : Synchronise ( MS Outlook )

Initialize connection with MS Outlook (I)

Todo : Synchronise ( MS Outlook )

Initialize connection with MS Outlook (I)

Memo : Synchronise ( MS Outlook )

Initialize connection with MS Outlook (I)

Synchronisation failed.

Fail to connect to the phone,
Please check the COM port and connect in idle screen.

This is a new PC i have got, it worked fine on my old one. I have checked the compatibility mode is set as WXPSP2.

Can somebody please help, i have tried everything!!

    I have the same problem, The T-mobile shop said that it could be a problem with Vista, i have checked at microsoft and the viewty is not listed as one of the phones they have worked with. I am on the third KU990 in the last 7 days. This seems to be a common problem and as of yet i haven't found a way round it.

    Hi Cvandoes.



    Just tried your suggestion, and i played around with this before and nothing happened. However this time, the LG PC Suite was using COM PORT4 and the USBCOM PORT in Device Manager was using COM PORT5, i changed this to COM PORT4 and had an error message saying, 'this com port is already in use, are you sure you want to continue' i continued and it looked like it was really going to work, i got quite excited, but then when clicking on syncronise now in pc suite, i got this error message:-



    Initialize connection with MS Outlook (I)


    Synchronisation failed.


    Fail to connect to the phone,
    Please check the COM port and connect in idle screen.





    Thanks for trying.





    Anymore suggestions anyone??

    I have the same problem but it only seems to have happened within the last few months, prior to this my phone syncronised without any problems, I have e-mailed LG without any success.

    It cannot be a result of having VISTA as I have always been able to before unless its due to an update

This is what sorted it out for me.

When you go through the connection wizard on the LG PC Suite take note of the port number that it is using.
Then go to device manager(for win xp go to start/control panel/system, click on the Hardware tab then device manger) on your pc. Expand Ports(COM & LPT) and right click on LGE Mobile USB Serial Port and select properties. Take note of what port is indicated in brackets. Go to the Port Settings tab and select advanced. Change the com port number to what LG PC suite was using. Select OK, OK and try connecting again with the Wizard and see if you can transfer data etc

For normal installation , you have to install Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 for your Imate Jam and a USB cable, You can download the Microsoft Active Sync software from the link below

Trying to download my pictures from my lg ku990 to my pc but i dont have the software disc?


Hi,
Most of the mobile don't need softwares to be installed for transferring pictures to computer from it. Just connect your mobile to computer and select something like "Mass storage mode/ pen drive mode", if prompted anything in your mobile. You should be getting extra pen drive like removable drives in your my computer and all your pictures can be accessed via it.
If still you couldn't succeed, then you can remove the memory card from your mobile and connect it to your computer using any memory card reader and can transfer your pictures easily.

Can not down load from pc using usb cable


what's the brand of the phone? normally every brand has its own way of connecting to the computer. nokia for instance uses nokia pc suite as a sync application. normally a cd with compatible software is delivered with the phone. if you don't have the cd, you can download the soft from the manufacturer's web site. install this software first and wait for the soft installer to ask you to connect the phone at the right moment to make a valid synced connection between the pc and the phone...

Serious Issue re ActiveSync 4.5, HTC Touch, WM6


pls tell me what do u want to do with active sync bcoz this small piece of software gives lot of trouble in winxp , vista WMDC works ok , i know u are frustrated with microsoft support infact support one some issues does not even exist at all , this problem is not from ur PDA it is from this malfunc software that is called active sync , pls let me know if u use active sync to backup ur contacts then u can do it with SPB backup better than active sync without errors u can losd it it to ur pda and can make backups from ur pda not pc dependent at all

pls let me know abt ur usage of this software

Unable to sync my T-Mobile Wing with computer


The T-Mobile Wing is not compatible with Windows Mobile Device Center vr. 6.1
My computer had updated itself to the higher version during a Windows update a few weeks ago.
Once vr. 6.1 was uninstalled, and vr. 6.0 was reinstalled, I was able to sync my Wing again.

Unable to sync


Usually rebooting the phone will cure this, I presume you have switched the phone off, removed the battery and restarted?

make sure in
File--> connection settings
that usb and the port you have assigned to bluetooth is enabled
(all tick boxes checked)

try deleting the device from active sync
File--> Mobile device --> (select your device)
then go to
File --> Delete mobile device
make sure you have copies of any un-synced data as it may be lost but shouldn't.

If I remember rightly (dont have a touch to hand) also delete the link to the pc in the active sync window on the touch
Menu--> options (select the server name) Menu-->Delete

and re create the profile by plugging in the device.

Error message using IrComm port


Hi, Right click on hotsync manager at the bottom right corner of the pc , make sure only local serial and ir is having a check mark , if anything else has check mark , just go to that and do a left click , it will get unchecked . On the handheld tap on home , on the main page u will see hotsync icon , tap on that , on the hotsync page make sure via ir , and not cradle or cable , then at the top u will see hotsync in words , tap on that , in the drop down u will see lan sync pref, tap on that and make sure lan sync is highlighted , and not local hot sync , since local hotsync is usefull only when u perform cradle or cable hot sync using usb , then click on ok , try a hotsync . If this doesnt help and again u get the same error , do a soft reset on the handheld and on the pc , go into hotsync manager , click on setup , choose local , change the com port to a different port and reduce the speed to 9600 , click on ok restart the pc and again perform a hotsync . The error u got was coz of this , on ur pc a ir port is not been assigned .. Try this it should work .. Regards
