Dell All-in-One Multifunctional (v715w) InkJet Printer Logo
Posted on Aug 10, 2011

I just got a new Dell V15w printer. Problem: printing photos from the hard drive of my Dell computer. The colours are excellent, BUT all the photos have very thin, light horizontal lines going across; there must be close to 100 on a 3.5 x 5" picture. Would be very grateful for your help! Thanks, Irene

Try performing a head clean using the printers software maintenance tools, the only problem with that is it normally uses all of the ink in the cartridges, I get cheap ink cartridges http://www.dinkycartridges.co.uk

SOURCE: Hi, When printing photos, my

Epsons are notorious for this sort of problem, especially in used infrequently as ink residue dries on the print head; try using a cleaning cartridge, or swab around relevant print head with cotton bud and ethanol/isopropyl alcohol. Here are examples of cleaning carts, there are others http://www.internet-ink.co.uk/epson-cleaning-cartridges/ http://www.icompinkcartridges.co.uk/epson-r200-r300-r220-r320-r340-cleaning-kit.html

Too much red

I'm assuming that the colour cartridge is a three in one. Blue, Yellow and Magenta.

When printing a colour document, the printer automatically balances colour mixtures from the three primary colours listed above. Should a print out be too red, its probably because its run out of yellow and/blue.

The best way to check is to print out a test page, you should get a block for each of the colours and black. If one's missing, there's your answer.

Canon i9100: colors printing incorrectly

I've had the Canon i9100 since 2003 and have excellent photo printing results. In 2009 it started playing up and I'd gt some banding. More recently, black didn't want to print. It was as though the black ink in the print head got dry some days.

April 2010 - The colours started printing strange and I bought a brand new print head and installed it. Only takes a minute. Still had an issue with photo printing. Black and white was excellent but colours weren't true.

Found advice online to try cleaning the print head to print head carrier electrical contacts by rubbing them with a rubber eraser.

I did that and now I'm getting perfect colour photo prints again.

I had been thinking about buying a new A3+ printer but this is old printer is now working as good as new.

You said that the pictures on your computer looks perfect. It just that when you print them out, the color came too strong. Well i think it is with the printer and its color separation that has the problem and not the camera. When you see those pics from the camera, do they show the strong colors? If not, and they appear with excellent colors, then there is no problem.

Vertical and horizontal lines when printing photos - HP Photosmar

Hi,
it sounds as if you may have the picture quality set to draft, its worth a check, especially if printing is ok. Does it print colour writing well too or just black, one of the colour inks may have a block or be low, go into printer settings menu and check what print quality its set for.
