My Roper dryer heats way too much. I have changed the t stats ang cleaned lint and exaust vent.

clean lint out of vent first. then check heat stats and make sure vent is not blocked or kinked. if dryer cannot vent hi-temp. heat stat. will cut power to element, when it cools off element re energizes heats up and heat stat cuts power again. this causes a long time to dry. could be other things, but this is most likely

sounds like the safety thermostat (Hi Limit Thermostat) is cutting your dryer off. This usually happens because of hi heat (higher than normal) which is caused by clogged exaust.
Check your dryer vent to ensure that is is completly free of lint. Clean the lint from the lint trap all the way to the output of the exaust outside your dwelling, ensuring the dryer has a unobstructed flow of hot air.

Remove all duct work connected to this dryer. Clean thoroughly. You will find amass of lint inside of it causing your problem. If not the moister sensor is not working properly and needs to be replaced.
I do hope you will find a clogged vent tube for it is easier to clean the tube than to replace the sensor. The sensor is a fail safe part. It keeps the dryer from catching on fire when the lint tube is clogged up

remove the front cover of the unit and make sure the dryer wheel is hooked and turning,while in there check for any pipe ductwork thats disconnected

also something to look for is the lint screen housing if vent is clear then just to test remove the rear vent start the unit on air do you feel good air flow if not the lint screen housing needs cleaned. has something changed in the location of this unit if not and just decreased overtime then check the housing area

you may need to take apart the dryer and make sure that the exaust line isnt clogged up with lint,paper,ect.

john there is only one heating element.ither it works or it dosent.when acustomer complains of low heat or long dry times 99out of100 its the venting or the dryer is blocked with lint.remove the dryer from the venting and try a load.if better clean house venting.you .........if not better you should have a great air flow leaving the dryer so if not drying well with venting off.take dryer apart a clean all araes that air is moving,where lint can block that flow.god bless .tom

Sometimes this can happen when the vent line is clogged.
TRY THESE MEASURES!!!!!!!!
1. If the dryer is gas and old, the pilot could be out or if it is newer it could have a defective or worn out a igniter!
2. Check if the lint filter is full and needs to be cleaned.
Try this first.
3. Then check if the outside screen covering the exhaust vent is even half blocked with lint there will be no heat! This screen is to keep small animals out!
Try checking this second and if it is clogged or the spring loaded door is stuck closed try to clean the lint out of the corners of the flap door, and or remove the screen permanently!
I DID AND NO ANIMALS LIKE TO GET BURNT,IT'S HOT IN THAT TUBE!
2 years that mine is off and it's all is fine.
