I lost my remote, but I need to use the A/V.. Is it possible?
My daughter received an Insignia NS-13CTV 13" TV/DVD combo for Christmas about two years ago. Unfortunately, we lost the remote and have virtually no way of obtaining a new one. I would like to hook up my Game Cube for my daughter and I to play together. Is there any way of using the A/V or AUX or whatever... to hook up a game console, without a remote? Please help ASAP. Thank you. :)

If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. There are two parts for the remote to work. The remote itself, (the transmitter), and the receiver, which is in the tv. If you tried another remote with no difference, then the problem is the remote receiver in the tv. These are inexpensive and easy to replace but they are soldered on the circuit board. If you are not familiar with soldering, defer to an expert. Most of the bill will be labor as the parts cost should be less than $20.00.
The command you seek is in the remote. You will have to experiment as to what menu item will separate an over the air signal to cable. It should say on the menu screen and it will direct you....seek and ye shall find.
the exact same thing JUST happened to us, my daughter unknowingly pushed a button, or a combo of buttons on the remote, we got the blue screen with the lock in the left hand corner, tried ALL of the above (we have the same tv, insigna, only 2 yrs old), I typed the problem in on the net and got the solution, pressing the display button worked!!! Thank U who ever knew this!!!
