Re: What is Flex Digital Magnifier?

When using manual focus(MF) and direct manual focus(DMF) mode, Flex Digital magnifier (FDM) can be used to confirm selected flex focus point by enlarging it to 3.3x. Also the focus point can be selected after enlarging. (The conventional models: Magnified 2x, at the center of the LCD.)

How to open OLYMPUS SP570 UZ to fix flash lift

First, remove all visible screws.
Then use a magnifier to closely examine the hot shoe. You will see that there is a spring clip which can be slid rearward and removed. Under this clip are 4 screws. Remove these and the rear cover is free.

Is the shutter flex cable of A470 self-replaceable?

$35 is very inexpensive for this repair. But an A470 is only worth about that price these days. I know that flex cables are available on eBay, but the average person CANNOT repair this problem. The shutter flex cable is buried DEEP inside the camera, and inside the actual lens mechanism of the camera. You need to completely disassemble the camera to access it. If a new camera is out of the question, and you are certain that the $35 repair business is reputable, then would recommend them instead of you attempting to repair this yourself.

My phone has no display it doesnt switch on but has backlight reflection.

there is nothing wrong with your screen, the problem is from the flex that connects your screen to the phone's main board. This flex must have worn out that's why your screen is not displaying any picture.

The problem is common with flip and slide phones. The flex gets worn out as a result of constant opening and close of the flip or slide phone.

I would urge you to replace the flex and I am assuring you that your screen will display picture again. You might also be lucky to find out that the flex is not well fix, that is, it may have loosed contact.

If you cannot change the flex yourself, maybe you should take the phone to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the flex can be fixed/replaced.

Read the tips on this link for more info about phone screen problems;

Good luck.

Bad eyesight, cannot read your manual

Hi, Bob, and welcome to FixYa.
If the manual is in digital format on your computer, there are several remedies for this.
On a Microsoft Windows computer, there is a "magnifier" tool available that will increase the size of whatever you are viewing on the screen. To utilize this tool. you'll need to go to the "Start" button, click it and then select "Accessories".
There are also free, downloadable magnifiers available. A good one that I have used in the past can be found here:
Finally, if it is a manual that is in a document format known as ".pdf" (Example: Manual.pdf), the program that is used to open this type of document has it's own built in magnifier, indicated by a "plus" or a "minus" sign in the tool bar or under the "View" menu. There you are able to resize the document.
Hope this helps-

Turn on power, lens goes out and in, then shuts off

It must be a lens problem. Could be a semi-broken lens FLEX cable - happens to brake in these cameras (also FE-330). The FLEX is available on ebay, but it takes some technical knowledge and experience to replace, so you should give it to a camera technician. Also there could be a problem with the focus system. It could be cheaper to buy a new camera. As lens main and shutter flex cables brake on this model, I wouldn't suggest you investing money in the repair as it will fail again - sooner or later. I have repaired a lot of these.

I cant read small writing in instruction guide for vivitar vivicam 7690 digital camera

You have a couple of choices.

You can magnify the text. Most bookstores will be happy to sell you a page magnifier, or you can simply use a magnifiying glass.

You can read the text online. You can download the manual in PDF form from the manufacturer's web site at and magnify the text as desired within your PDF reader.

the flex under the button has two flex ribbon buttons and a secondary flex contact that the "ACTION" button presses on.
More then likely, one of the diodes is bad, the resitor has become an open, OR the primary "ACTION" pad has an open

in the flex trace (circuit). You will need to disassymble the camera, becareful and unhook the shutter power connector

before you pull the guts out, you will brake the retaining clip and

will need to replace that as well when you go and HOPEFULLY

find the replacement part number for the button unit, not just teh flex.

DSC-T7 Magnify Mode

Hello, Don't mix magnifier mode and expanded focus mode. Magnifier mode is simply a short AF range operating mode, like a kinda super-macro. Whether you selected mag/macro/normal, the camera operates always same except that the focussing range limits are changed accordingly by the S/W. The lens itself is capable of focussing from 1cm to infinity anyway. Expanded focus is used on some still and video cameras to assit manual focus because the LCD's resolution is lower than the CCD's. It can be seen as a workaround for the lack of optical reflex viewfinder (Sony cams ar not dSLRs, including HDR-FX1!). So the center area of the pic is "digitally zoomed" to make sure you can adjust a sharp focus of the point of interest in your frame. However it has nothing to do with macro shooting, and works at any distance within the lenses focussing range. Hope having helped
