Do they still play? if they do then don't turn them up so loud. What that smoking is, is the coating on the voice coil turns being burned off. It happens when you are over powering or distorting the speaker very heavily. I would recommend more easy listening. Good luck.

The subs are done. Do me a favor and use a digital multimeter to measure the ohms on the all of the voice coils and I will let you know what kind of condition the subs are in. My guess is that they are blown. Thanks

Lab l4 bass amp smoked my speakers

Hi,
If your description is to be taken literally, and smoke did indeed come out of the speakers, your output transistors have shorted out, and put the full power supply voltage and current through your speakers.
The amp and the speakers will need to be serviced. The speakers will need new voice coils at the least.

Deffective Speakers????

No need to buy a new speaker,
Inside the speaker box there is one TRANSFORMAR with 4 or 2 Diods & capasitor will be there that will connected to your Power cord & another line will go to Speaker ,

smoke has came from the transformar,
If you able to replace that your speaker will start work fine

cheers

Speakers keep cutting out and the box starts smoking...

Most likly if its smoking, and you replased your wires then your speeker coweols may have moved together from overdriving the subs and are slighly tuching. Wich would mean you need to just get new ones. Im looking to buy some of theas and that is something severol people have been having problems with from over driving the subs. ps. sry bout the spelling, lol
