There is no way, you must do a restore in order to do it. If you plug it, itunes can make a backup before restoring.

you can only create playlist using Windows Media Player. There is no option on creating it from the player itself.

Connection problems

It is problem of MTP chip used in that. You have to format it with special formatting tool. Any mobile repairer who have MT box can do this. Because RX, TX and Ground pin should be identified properly to format it. If anybody near you have this MT box he can do this. If he needs pinout of that device mail me i will send it to him.
