I assume that you mean the WiFi connection on your Kindle keeps going off and that you have checked that other devices connecting to the same WiFi router / access point are not experiencing the same problem, only the Kindle?
If it is only your Kindle having this problem, then it may be worth checking that you have the latest version of software on the Kindle which you can do by visiting the Kindle Support web link in this update - select your correct Kindle device then follow the steps to check that you have the most up to date software installed. The Kindle Keyboard should update itself automatically but can also be done manually if necessary.
If that doesn't work, then you may need to Reset the Kindle by pressing the Power button for 20 seconds - this will do a re-boot of the Kindle OS which may cure the problem is it is caused by some temporary problem.
Have you checked what your battery status is when the WiFi goes off - this may happen when the battery levels get very low - the WiFi will add extra drain on the battery and cause the battery life to be reduced if left on full time.
Does the wifi work at all after it resets? Have you applied the level 2 palm srvice pack to the LD? I believe the update changes how the wifi operates. If you go to www.palmone.com and go to the lifedrive page you should see a list of downloads for it. If you click on the 2.0 update there is a description of how to tell if you need this or if it is already installed. You just need to check the version of one file. Download and install the patch and see if that fixes everythng.
If that doesn't fix it you may have a more serious problem that could require replaceing or fixing the LD
Tap the "EV" or "1X" icon on the top of the today screen, and then tap settings. Select the Wireless LAN, and then tap the icon in the bottom left corner that looks like a target with parenthesis. That just got you to the communication manager. There you can toggle your "phone" on and off, as well as bluetooth, wireless and sound, among others (depending on what you have installed). when you tap the antenna for wireless, does it turn green, and the little "x" go away? That's what you need to figure out first, after that we can go look at some other things....
I have an answer for the 3-2 red light blink w/black screen. Remove the battery, hold the end call button and put the battery back in. The red light should stay on for a while now. Push and hold the call button and alternate with the end call button untill the hourglass shows. Allow some time to boot up. I stumbled upon this, so if this doesnt work, try simmilar procedrues. I did get mine to work. Good Luck, dont give up, it flashes that 3-2 code for a reason.
The unit will turn power on for the WiFi when you attempt to use Mail or the NetFront browser. When the WiFi is active there will be a little green light in the bottom left corner of the unit.
For WiFi to work, you will have to setup the security key to connect to secure WiFi networks. These settings are entered into the NetFront browser Network preferences.
There's a little utility I use (just because it's quicker than the usual iPaq Wireless screen buttons) called WirelessSwitcher.
Maybe this would do the trick for you.
i've never known them not come back on after going off, but have noticed they do switch back on, on their own when the wifi is enabled. when i want mine to stay off i tap the arrows at the top of the screen and select "turn on flight mode" this will then stop the device searching for a network and will shut down. when you want wifi again turn the flight mode of in the same way.
