How do I use the calculator to make a graph, replace f(x) with y?

This calculator is not a graphing calculator; it won't be able to actually show you the graph but it can give you graphing points.

First you must use a graphing calculator.

Most graphing calculators graph functions, i.e. relations of the form y=f(x).

Some graphing calculators are able to graph equations (not necessarily functions). On one of these calculators your draw the vertical line x=-3, then you shade to the left of the point x=-3. That gives you the real line from infinity up to but not including x=-3.

Generally, people do not need calculators to find the solutions to inequalities in just one variable.

This is not a graphing calculator. Besides, most graphing calculators are able to graph functions, and conics are not functions. You need a utility that graphs conics. The Casio FX-9750G and others have a conics utility. On the TI83/84 Plus you can download an application that draws them.

Your calculator does not have graphing capabilities. On a graphing calculator you would first select the graph type 1. function y= f(x), 2. parametric x=x(t), y=y(t), 3.polar r=function(theta).

Your calculator cannot, natively, perform 3D graphing.

What does your graph look like? Do you have the proper angular mode set?

The fx-115ES is not a graphics calculator so it will not display graphs on its screen. You can use it to make graphs by calculating the points and plotting them on graph paper.

While it may have many of the same functions as a graphing calculator. It cannot produce a graph on the screen. This is required for most classes. It is not considered a graphing calculator, and you will most likely have to buy a new one.

The casio FX-300Ms calculator cannot do graphs. To tell you how to use a graphing calculator TO DRAW GRAPHS we need to know the exact brand and model number of the calculator.

- Most graphing calculators basically function the same way.
- You select the graph type (function, polar, parametric, sequence, 3D, wire mesh, slope field, etc.)
- You enter the algebraic form of the function you want to draw.
- You press a button or menu to GRAPH
- The graph is drawn.
- If you want to see a particular part of the graph, you use a ZOOM function, or you enter values for the WINDOW dimensions.
- Most graphing calculators have a TRACE function that allow you to follow the curve you have drawn to read off values of coordinate points.
- You can also use the calculator to find zeros roots) of functions, calculate derivatives at some chosen points or calculate the area "under the curve", find the minimum and maximum of a function.

You must deactivate the statistical plots. If you do statistical graphs, the graphing is reconfigured in a way that happens to be incompatible with regular fuction graphs.

- To deactivate the statistical plots.
- Press [2nd][Y=] to access the (STAT PLOT) menu.
- Press [4:PlotsOff][ENTER].
- Calculator displays Done.
- You are ready to draw the function graphs.

The first solution will allow you to watch your
calculator graph two equations simultaneously rather than finishing one
before graphing the next; it won't solve the problem of having the
calculator unselect one equation when you select a second. To fix
that problem, try the following:

In order to select additional graphs, the Transformation Graphing App will need to be uninstalled from the TI-83 Plus Family and TI-84 Plus Family. Uninstalling the App does not erase it from the calculator, it disables it from interfering with the normal graphing modes. Below are the steps to successfully uninstall the App.
