Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I plugged the SanDisk cruzer 4gb micro flash drive into my USB port. It took up both the J & K drive slots with that U3 stuff. I loaded some data onto it and then clicked on the safley remove hardware icon and it removed both the J & K drives. Now when I reboot it takes forever to get past the Intel Pentium logo to boot up and the J drive is no longer there. I tried to remove the U3 stuff with the included program, when I pluged it back in, but got an error msg that it could not complete. I tried a restore but it could not resolve because the J drive had been removed. What do I do next.

The answer to this is very simple wlysett ..... First of all, make sure that the Safely Remove Hardware icon is not set as
" Always Hide "
The manual way of bringing back the Safely Remove Hardware window is by running a command. Go to Start, Run, type in the following line and click OK. The command below is case sensitive.

rundll32 shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll

or download this small tool to restore accessories group ....

Hope I have been of some help to you.

The best way to go about this is to find a linux system as linux operating systems completely bypass the U3 security completely.

Sandisk U3 Cruzer Micro 4Gb Cant Format

With your computer on and the SD Flashdrive fitted correct side UP in the USB port, go to 'My Computer' on the desktop and select the flash drive. The computer will ask you what function you want to perform on the drive and you must select 'format.' You did not say what kind of operating system you are using or I could give you more information. Let me know what happens,

SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive My Drive is Empty How Do I Get U3Smart The Drive To Factory Settings. My Model is SDCZ6-4096A10 SN# BH0701l5B

According to Scandisk:

As of October 1st 2009, SanDisk started shipping the Cruzer Micro (SDCZ6-XXX) product line without the U3 software pre-installed on the device.

During the transition period, there may have been a small number of devices that were packaged in older packaging that states the device includes the U3 software. If you purchased one of these devices and would like to use the U3 software, please download and install it.

Cruzer micro 4gb does not start on windows xp

If you are using Windows.
Open the Windows explorer.
Plug the device in a USB port and wait for the computer to recognize it. After it is recognized the Windows Explorer will show two additional icons, one of them a CD-ROM.

Click the icon with the CD-ROM, and it will execute the U3 operating system. A small yellow icon with a U3 label will appear on the task bar. Right-click the icon on task bar and select the "Open U3 Launchpad". Point to the Settings button on the right side.
Right click that button and select the U3 LaunchPad settings

In the window that pop up point to "Autorun" button and click it.

Click the button that will say Enable.
After that it will launch automatically whenever the device is recognized by a computer.

If the U3 launchPad is missing from the device you can download it from the SanDisk site. Here is the link. Download it and install it on your computer. Note:It does not launch on MacProducts or Linux.

SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB USB plugged it, light on, but shows an empty file in windows with capacity of 0bytes Also shows a CD drive (the one that U3 runs) which says nothing is in disk drive.

It is likely an issue with the filesystem. The FAT filesystem gets easily corrupted. If that's the case, reformatting it with FAT32 should help. But remember - reformatting erases all the data, so don't do it if you have anything important on the drive!

F drive wont show up

This is a problem with the Microsoft operating system. What you can do is log off. Put your drive in, then logon. Backup your drive. Then reformat it. Put your data back on your drive and that should solve your problem.
