Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC

1 Answer

Response Myt computer is only about 9 months old. The files that I am attempting to download from the HP total care advisor are from HP and they appear to be just update files. They are HP Update 4.0.11, INtel Matrix Storage Manager Driver, HP Update- Security Update, NVIDIA Unified Graphics Driver Update, and Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers. I just reciently about a month ago started using it on the internet. I had norton antivirus at first but then downloaded one I think was called Advir it was promoted as the best free antivirus program. Shortly after I started using this is when things started to go haywire. I quickly uninstalled this program and purchased norton 360. I have 228 GB free. Anthing you can do to help would be greatly appriciated.

It is a file associated with HP Total Care Advisor. You can go into control panel, Programs and Repair Total Care Advisor if you want to try and keep it. If you do not use it, you can uninstall it.

Total care advisor has stopped working. Computer runs slow. What is recovery drive mine says it only has 11% free space

To sort out "Total Care Advisor" i suggest going to HP's support site and re-download it then install it again, to be honest i would remove it completely, but by the sounds of it you will be better with it on.

The Recovery drive is a partition that hold's all the information to re-install your machine should it become corrupt. Please do not delete anything in here, unless you have all the disks to re-install your machine and are compitent on how to do this. It having only 11% left is pretty normal, as i say dont delete anythinf from here.

Hp toatal care advisor states internet security at risk, but the fire wall and anti-virus that they are on.

hp total advisor is the software from HP which doesnt work like an antivirus,it is justt a way you can connect to hp for any hardware support.

no antivirus may have the same results,if one says the computer is safe ,the other would give you an error or security message, if you have norton or mcafee or any other antivirus ,update it and run a scan ,

also you may get your computer cleaned up for free by contacting one of the technician at
www.techbuddies.org they provide free tech-support for no charge, amazing but its true.

Unable to run HPTotal Care Advisor

So, first you need:

Either -
HP Help and Support for Microsoft Vista (32-bit Editions): here

or

HP Help and Support for Microsoft Vista (64-bit Editions): here

And you'll need:

HP Active Support Library: here

However, I cannot find the HP Total Care Advisor anywhere.

Try Add/Remove Programs and click on the Total Care to see if there is a 'repair' option.

Hpsudelpacks.exe stopped working

I had the same problem. When I finally reached HP about this they said that it could be my firewall. You can turn off the firewall then download.

I opted for the second solution, which worked just fine: uninstall, then reinstall the HP update program.
Click START, then CONTROL PANEL, then PROGRAMS AND FEATURES. Select HP Update program from the list, then click uninstall.

When this is finished, then reinstall from Recovery Manager. Go to this website:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00834921&dlc=en
It is called “HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Performing a Software Application or Driver Recover in Windows Vista” if you wish to search it.
Follow the instructions at this site.

You can access Recovery Manager on the menu when you click START.
