When you turn on the power button listen to the back of the TV, you should hear a motor with a high pitch spin up (the color wheel) and then the lamp should attempt to fire. The lamp should make a sparking sound and if it does your lamp is most likely defective. The part number for the lamp is on a sticker on the sode that will say "Lamp Code" on it and will be something like BP96-****
Hi, TV needs lamp replacement as existing lamp got weak or has been reached to end of its working life, please note that lamp is not dead or broken so that is why lamp lit is not lit at tv front. Hope these info will help you. Thanks.
Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is xl-2100 you can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/Sony-XL-2100U-TV-Lamp-p/sony_xl-2100u_replacement_lamp.htm?Click-48173.Have a blessed one!
listen to the tv from the rear you should hear a slight wind up of the colorwheel just after the power button is pressed. after that the lamp ballast should attempt to start the lamp . if the lamp is bad you will hear a buzzing and see no light coming from the lamp door. if you dont hear that winding up of the colorwheel its bad and needs to be replaced
Hi,If your tv is between 2-4 yrs most likely it's time to replace the lamp.If you hear continuous clicking it could be the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp.If you hear buzzing it could be the color wheel, which is a spinning wheel that creates the color on your tv.God bless you!
Do you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on? it could be the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp .Do you hear buzzing ,whirling or like a high pitch sound? If you do it could be an issue with the color wheel. If you don't hear any of that and tv is between 1-2 yrs then most likely it's the lamp that needs to be replaced.Your Original lamp is Osram and last 4000-5000 hrs, get the Philips which will last 2-4 yrs 6000-8000 hrs.God bless you!
All 3 leds blinking is a Lamp error. Pull the lamp and see if it is blown. If so, replace. This error can also be caused by many parts of the optical block = colorwheel, balast, or DMD board. If you hear a buzz sound when it tries to fire lamp then the lamp is bad. If not listen for the spinning high pitched squeel of the colorwheel coming up. If you hear this but no buzz from the ballast, you likely have a bad ballast. If you do not hear the color wheel, you have a bad color wheel or DMD board.
