Re: oven not working (lighting) on magic chef stove...
Look at the burners in the oven,they usually go bad where they hook to the unit,it will look like a peice is missing.if this is not the case, a wire is loose in your breaker and you're running on 110 instead of 220

Hi, If the oven has a standing pilot too, Open the bottom door and locate the main burner. Follow the burner toward the rear of the oven and there will be a flame switch attatched to the burner. Hold the flame near the flame switch and the gas should ignite.
Some model do not have a standing pilot in the oven. Please get me your model number off the label located around the opening of the lower door so I can look this up and instruct you better.
If the oven is working but the control does not light up then you will have to replace the control. If the oven doesn't work then will have to check and see if you have power to the control. If power is there then the control is bad.
I have a magic chef gas range and the top of the stove burners work , the broiler works but not the oven..I think it is the glo bar. How the heck do I change this? It is a magic chef proven cooking performance from model # 8114p627-60 from about 1999
