Craftsman 3/4 chain drive will not open, when pressing wall switch I hear click at the unit and the programming light will flash, but it doesn't open the door, or close for that matter the motor doesn't engage. Worked at noon then nothing. Have unplugged it to allow it to reset and be cool and that is not helping. Is this a repairable unit or should I just replace

SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE MAY HAVE PRESSED THE LOCK / VACATIONS SWITCH ON YOUR WALL CONTROL. IF STILL NOT WORKING AND THE LED IN THE WALL SWITCH IS NOT FLASHING TRY AGAIN TO PROGRAM YOUR REMOTES.

If motor continues to run but no chain action check for missing chain tooth or cam gear worn.

You don't say but I am going to assume the door is stuck in the open position. Loosen the chain enough to relieve the tension on the trolley. Now run the opener until the door closes. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

If the opener is making a clicking sound when it is running the chain is too tight. Post back with the number of flashes from the light.

The main light flashing 10 times is the sign of a door sensor problem. Check to see if the small light on each sensors is lit and not flickering. If you cannot get both lights to come on your sensors or the wiring to them is bad.

Check your manual or go on line and find out where it is.

IS THE UNIT JAMMED AGAINST THE STOP BOLT ON THE RAIL??

IF IT IS THE CHAIN WILL NEED TO BE RESET RECHECK YOUR INSTRUCTION SHEET.

IF NOT DOWNLOAD THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR YOUR OPERATOR AND GO THROUGH THE DIAGNOSTICS.

Try unplugging the operator. This may reset any problems you had.

My garage door opener will start to close then stop and go back to the open position. If I put pressure on the door as it is closing sometimes it will close all the way and sometimes it will return to the open position. Can you help me. Thanks [email protected]
