If it's powering up the DVD usually it's the button labled POWER or the one with a O with a vertical bar in the middle, if it's to play a DVD it't the button labled PLAY, or the one with one triangle pointing to the wright :)

Some DVDs allow 'autoplay' (which means after a certain disc is inserted, the main title (such as a movie) will play without the user doing anything else but viewing the contents). Most players support this playback feature, but user controls (buttons on remote/front panel) make it convenient for the user to STOP/PAUSE etc., however, if the loaded DVD is showing a MENU, and has not started title playback automatically, simply press PLAY either on remote - or unit itself and the main title (for example a movie) will begin. Very easy to get used to once you have done it a few times.

My remote won't work for my DMP-BD75

If both the remote (which can be tested by a shop for free) AND the front buttons do not work I suspect the unit may have a lock out that disables everything on both except for on off..........

How do you record dvd to vhs and from vhs to dvd

For VHS to DVD, put the tape to dub in the VHS slot and a blank DVD in the DVD tray. Make sure the DVD is compatible with the DVD recorder (see the recommended disc list) and is unfinalized if you are using a R/W disc. Close the tray. Set the unit to VCR mode with the DVD/VCR button. Advance the tape to the place that you want the recording to start. Then press the Dubbing button (either on the remote or the unit itself). Select the recording mode (SP, LP etc), highlight Dubbing then press Enter or Dubbing. Press Stop to interrupt the recording.

For DVD to VHS, put a blank tape in the VCR (make sure the protection tab has not been broken off) and the DVD to duplicate in the DVD tray and close the tray. Put the unit in DVD mode by pressing the DVD/VCR button. Find the point at which you want to start recording the DVD. Again press Dubbing and set up the recording mode and highlight Dubbing and press Enter or Dubbing.

Note that copyprotected content can not be recorded.

The manual for this recorder is on the right side of the page here: http://www.lg.com/us/tv-audio-video/video/LG-dvd-recorder-RC897T.jsp . See page 48 for the screen captures of setting the recording mode part of the dubbing procedure.

I hope this helps.

Everytime I start the TV I get a no signal, also can't get the DVD to play? Model #PLV7122 TV/DVD, 22"

Make sure you are on the correct input. Usually there is a input or source button on the TV remote. Put a DVD in and hit the play button on the front of the DVD player so you can see the movie when you know you got it right.

My husband always operated the DVD player. He has died and now I'm at a loss what to do. I rented a DVD at the video store. I tried to put it into the tray on the DVD player. I had to pull the tray...

Hi, Very sorry for your loss. As always the first step is to make sure the player is connected to the wall outlet and turned on. To put a disk in the DVD you should push the "Eject" button to open and close the tray it looks like a home(a triangle over a dash) on the front side of the box down left corner of the tray. You have the same button on the remote marked "Eject". Push either once, put the disk with the shiny side down on the tray and push the Eject button again to feed the tray back into the player. Usually the disk starts automatically and you will see a menu on the TV with alternatives like "Play the movie", "Setup", "Scenes",... you may highlight the "Play the movie" alternative, using "Up", "Down", "Left" and "Right" and then press the "OK" button. Or just push the "Play" button either on the box or the remote control. If you click "Here "you can download the manual in PDF form. To open it in your pc you'll need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (or any other PDF reader) installed.
I will gladly answer your questions Best Regards Bruce

I HAVE A NEW SONY BDP-360 SONY BLU-RAY PLAYER AND I HAVE A DVD FROM AMERICA I CAN'T PLAY AS WE ARE IN REGION 2 AND IT IS REGION 1. ANY WAY OF DE CODING THIS SO IT CAN PLAY ALL REGION CODES. THANKS.

Hi,

Yes there is a hack to make the DVD region free, as far as I know there is not one for the Blu-Ray as yet.

You will need your original remote and a 7040 OneforAll remote to enable region free playback of DVD’s on the Sony BDP-S350.

Programming the 7040 OneforAll remote.

1. Press DVD
2. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
3. Press 0533

4. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
5. Press 994
6. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
7. Press 1891 (this sets key 1 – the DVD button flashes twice)

8. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
9. Press 994
10. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
11. Press 2552 (this sets key 2 – the DVD button flashes twice)

12. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
13. Press 994
14. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
15. Press 0953 (this sets key 3 – the DVD button flashes twice)

16. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
17. Press 994
18. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
19. Press 2214 (this sets key 4 – the DVD button flashes twice)

20. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice. .
21. Press 994
22. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
23. Press 0795 (this sets key 5 – the DVD button flashes twice)

Done - the remote is now programmed and ready to use

1. Now to make your player region free use the Sony remote that came with the player to bring it out of standby and wait while HOME is displayed
2. Make sure there isn't a disc in the machine.
3. Now on the OneforAll remote press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (The blue 24p light on the player will start flashing)
4. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote
5. That’s it, the next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback
If the blue 24p light doesn’t flash then it hasn’t worked, try a new set of batteries and start a fresh

Good luck.
