Question about Televison & Video
There is a vhs tape stuck
You can eejct the tape manually by manually turning the motor on the right hand side of the VCR. Once you have reach the fully ejected position, try turning on the TV once more. If it still does not work, you might have to clean the mode switch mounted on the PCB, under the VCR mechanism. If it still does not work, the problem is going to need a repairman to fix.

SOURCE: TV wont stay on
The vcr carriage was probably damaged ( broken gear or carriage gear, etc ), As for repairing it, it may not be worth it and chances are, you won't find a new carriage for the unit. I have, in the past, disarmed the VCR unit and at least the customer could watch the TV. Thats not possible in every set, but it seems to work in the majority of them. Good Luck

I'm sorry to say that the solution as stated is not correct. This condition usually occurs because of belts that are slipping. In order to remove the tape, some dis-assembly is required. If you have not done this in the past, I would not suggest that you attempt this repair. This repair should cost about $10 in parts plus labor. It is possible that the IR LED is defective as well which can also cause this. This is a common failure and should be a simple repair for any shop.
