The fault with your TV is with some loose contact inside it. Normally most Trinitron TVs shows this problem due to loose contact in the video output card. Video output card is pluged diretly to the picture tube base, and can be detachable. You can pull it out very carefully without damaging the pins of of the picture tube. Most of the components in this board will heat up during working. Repeated heating and cooling will make the solder joints of the most heated components to get loose contacted. Normally, these loose contacts are very difficult to detect because they will be microscopic. Just do as what we do for this type of fault. Resolder most of the suspected solder terminals, with applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge in between the solder terminals. This will solve the problem of your TV. OK.
Possible issues in the Power section or the main board . If you can use a hair dyer to heat areas slowly the fault area can be found out easily as the set gets triggered when warm a possible fault in the capacitor of either of these stages.
Be very careful and you will be able to get to the fault as the set is live.
Check for leaked capacitor or smell in this sections.
Something is Wrong with the Video.Check Video out,Q705,732,761 and other components on the C board,c also check Q218,219,220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up Screen Slightly
My 36 wega did the same thing last week it must be contagious. Blinks 7 times mostly but sometimes 6 if hit power switch again. The problem is the D-boards shorted Flyback high voltage transformer but the ones Sony is selling $130 do not hold up and seem to burn out in a few days, yes twice bitten. Finally they send me new D-board can't wait to see if this fixes it once and for all. The board costs around $200 but is worth it to get it running again.
Hi i am a service center for sony we do a lot of these repairs most likley it is the voltage regulators in the power supply and cold solder joints on mother board and maybe horz out put transistor. some time it is screen voltage ajustment on fly back or maybe worse case bad tube that is the only things that cause this problem cost aroud 160dollars to 225 dollars
There may be dry joints in the Line Stage where the Line Transformer is situated. The move may have loosened some components off the board. If not familiar with TV Electronics please refer to a repair technician. Regards and good luck, JUS004
dear misskona, I suggest that if you have any technical knowledge the first thing you do is to increase the screen voltage and see if there is a bright line across the screen solder the vertical I.C or remove and fix another working one.if that do not solve the problem there is scat board solder some dry joint.
