Silver Cross Heritage pram

Hi Guys
This enquiry come from New Zealand. I'm an engineer and have been asked to help recondition an old Silver Cross Heritage pram. Problem - the wheels are fine but the tire rubbers are badly damaged and worn. Is it possible to replace the tire rubbers and not the whole wheel? Seems a strange question, but to get 4 wheels shipped out here will cost $N.Z 600 or 700. This is expensive. Any thoughts? The other query is this. I will have to dis-assemble the chassis to get some chrome parts re-chromed. We want to stay as original as possible, is it possible to by rivet kits with the genuine rivets? Will supply more details of make and model when we work out what we need. Cheers: Keith Hill

SOURCE: silvercross pram

Try Ebay- I have been looking for pram wheels for my son's gokart and there are quite a few silver cross ones which come up from time to time. May be pricey- but cheaper than a new pram! Set up an Ebay search for it or try 'want it now'.

no there is not a kit available. I have tried it myself before and used other spec material for the damper in the clutch and made the rivets myself. Worked great but is very timely. I'd actually recommend buying a new basket. The side pedals on the original basket often get grooves from the clutch plates wearing on them which can cause clutch chatter too.

SOURCE: new wheels for pliko

I would suggest either contacting Mamas & Papas direct ( or popping into a local stockist who should be able to order them in for you. The price should be the same regardless of where you go.
