Question about Dometic Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a dometic NDR 1292 refrigerator for LP- Gas. The light inside will not turn off. I have checked the switch and it works fine. Next, there are only one wire directly attached to the door switch. The second terminal on the door switch seems to make contact with one of the wire terminals. This seems to be the way the switch would be in the circuit. There are no other wires in the door switch compartmen that would or could attach to the door sw. duane3220@comcast.net

There should be a climate switch that enables the light to stay on. This helps with humidty problems. Hope this helps.

I have a dometic refridgerator Rm3762 or Rm3962 one year old in my rv. It stopped cooling and is plugged in to 110. I was having problems on lp and restarted it a couple of times.

If your unit is working ongas, check your electric heater element locaged in the large round tube onthe righ handside when looking from the outside. You can check current draw , should be about 2.5 to 2.75 a/c amps. If electriccheck okand the gas is working, check for ayellow residue around the base of the refrigerator on the outside. Also if you have an amonia odor, this will indicate your cooling unit has leaked out and will have to be replaced. It could also be blocked which would cause loss of cooling. Hope this helps

Hi,
Yes, the Air conditioner system is a bit low in charge, so when the air cools outside it drops the gas pressure too low and then the lose of charge switch cuts out till the pressure raises then it comes on again..

The best thing would be to get a pro to add some charge to this A/C system.

Here isa tip that I wrote about how to add refrigerant to a air conditioner or coolingsystem

Just bought a used 1987 Real-Lite truck camper. The roof air unit is Dometic as well as the LP/AC refrigerator. When turned to "cool" the air conditioner really draws down, dims the lights, and eventually...

To start with, if it's plugged in to a 15 amp breaker, and extension cord, the compressor starting up may just be enough to trip the breaker. It will draw close to 15 amps on start-up of compressor, and if there is a light extension cord used to plug it in, that only makes it worse. Make sure you shut all other breakers off in panel except AC, and try it. If you have water heater on hydro, fridge on hydro, and then try to start AC compressor, you'll be way over the 15 amps, especially if it's a light extension cord.
Keep in mind, in order for fridge to work, you need 12 volts DC (Battery) power going to back of fridge. If the controls aren't lighting up at top, you've most likely got no 12 Volt DC power going to fridge. Check all fuses as well.

Dometic air conditioner blowing cool air

When the cooling slows down, but water is still running off, usually something is icing up. You can turn the unit off, and let it thaw, and try again. Sometimes, if the humidity is high, this is more pronounced. It sounds like you are low on refrigerant. That implies that you have a slight leak. You should have the unit serviced, and the leak repaired.

Just clicking is all your getting from ceiling assembly? No other modes work such as fan, or furnace? If that's the case, check your circuit breakers to make sure it didn't trip.

Dometic control comfort control will not turn heat on or off

I had the same problem. I fixed it by turning off the battery switch to disconnect the battery from the power panel. I then had to turn off the main 110 breakers to shut down the converter. Once all the power was turned off the LED light went off. When I turned the power back on the remote was working fine. Hope this works for you.
