Hello thanks for using fixya
General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a packet-based wireless service used for sending and receiving data through the internet protocol. With GPRS, the transmitted data is divided into various 'packets' before it is received by the user.

To use GPRS, users require:
  • A mobile phone that supports GPRS
  • A subscription or upgrade, as relevant, to the mobile network that supports GPRS
  • Some users would specifically require asking their mobile network provider to activate the GPRS while other network operators allow automatic access
  • Knowledge of how to do data transfers on their specific model of the mobile handset as it varies depending on the models and brands.

Setting up GPRS for your phones:
Usually activating GPRS on your phones are done by the service providers, and different service providers have different configurations. Additionally, the settings for GPRS vary based on the different phones and phone models. As activation is required before setting up you should know that activation process vary from one provider to other. It could be as simple as sending an SMS to a particular number or calling customer care of that particular service provider. Once the activation is taken care of, the setting of the GPRS is done based on the model of the phone.
It is important to note here that the setting for GPRS is different for different phones companies and may be different even for the different models produced by these companies. Therefore, it is recommended that you rely on the information given directly from the service provider. Again activation process may be different for postpaid and prepaid customers. So just call and demand GPRS settings for

I cant upload my photos to my pc

hi friend
here are several ways to transfer mobile phone photos onto your PC, ranging from, emailing them using GPRS, Bluetooth file transfers, Infrared file transfer, using MMS service, using a card reader or simply using a data cable. VideoJug themselves even have a film on the subject, but this guide will address transferring photographs to your PC using the manufacturer supplied data-cable and software.
  1. Step 1: Check To See If You Have The data Cable And SoftwareMost mobile phones nowadays come standard with a USB data transfer cable and bundled software utility. Check the box that your mobile phone came with for the cable and CD-Rom. If not provided with the software, it may be available as a free download from the manufacturer’s website. If your phone did not come with a data cable, check the manual if your model supports data cable transfers.
  2. //');document.write('');document.write('');} //]]> google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);
  3. Step 2: Install The Communication SoftwareOnce you have located your software CD, check the system requirements necessary to run the software such as hardware specifications, operating systems supported etc. Install the software following on-screen instructions, but do not plug in the USB data cable or phone in just yet, unless the software requests you to do so during the installation process.
  4. Step 3: Connect Your Mobile Phone To The PC Using The Data CableOnce the installation is complete, the software would usually require a reboot of the PC before plugging in the mobile phone for the first time. Then connect your mobile phone to the data, and the cable to the USB port of your PC. Several phones may display a message on the mobile display that the phone is now connected to the PC, but if not don’t worry just yet!
  5. 1px.gif Remember never to unplug or disconnect the data cable from the phone during a data transfer or you could end up damaging your phone or loosing all your data.
  6. Step 4: Start Up The Software Package And Locate The Image Or File Transfer UtilityOnce connected, start up your mobile phone’s software, and browse through the interface. Most manufacturers offer some form of phone browser where you can browse through the content on your phone, copying files onto, or taking files off the mobile. The software utility may also offer a separate tool for transferring photos and video shot with your mobile, if this is the case use the utility!
  7. Step 5: Transfer Mobile Phone Photos Onto Your PCUse the software’s browser or photo utility to transfer your photographs to your PC. Some software tools provide image editing tools as well that will enable cropping, rotation, and sharpening of images once transferred to you PC. Don’t be afraid of referring to the software’s help file incase you get stuck.
  8. 1px.gif As phone models and manufacturers vary, it is always a good practice to read through the mobile phone user manual and the software's help or readme file while using this guide. It is also always good practice to use the backup function of the software first to ensure you can restore your phone back to its original state should anything happen to it.

Computer does not recognize it as a CD RW drive

When you try to write data to an optical disc, you may experience any of the following symptoms:

* You receive various disc write error messages.
* You experience issues with the drive and the built-in recording feature of Windows XP.
* You experience issues with third-party programs that you use to write data to the disc.
* You cannot read the disc in all versions of Windows.
* You cannot read the disc, or some files on the disk, by using an MP3 player.
* When you add files or folders to a disc that already contains data, some files are lost.
* Recording files to the disc is inconsistent.
* The disc recording operation is consistently unsuccessful.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Troubleshooting specific errors
If you experience one of the following errors, follow the appropriate steps to resolve the error.

* There is no disc in the drive. Please insert a writable CD into drive.
This error can occur if the CD-R drive or CD-RW drive is not recognized as a recordable device. This error can also occur if the device driver has been corrupted. To resolve this issue, see Method 3 in the "General troubleshooting" section and Method 1 in the "Advanced troubleshooting" section.

* Drive not accessible, incorrect function
This error message typically occurs when you try to write to a CD-R or a CD-RW, and the Windows XP built-in disc recording feature does not recognize the CD drive as a recordable drive. This error message may also occur if specific third-party programs are installed. For more information about how to troubleshoot this error,

when you access the CD-ROM drive, the DVD-ROM drive, or the CD-RW drive
* Error Deleting File or Folder.
Cannot delete file name. Files on this CD-ROM drive are read-only. You cannot copy or move files over to this CD-ROM drive.

This error message can occur because individual files cannot be deleted from the CD-RW. You cannot use the CD disc recording feature of Windows XP for random-access storage while you are writing to disc.

To set the service to Automatic, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc /s, and then click OK.
2. Double-click IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service.
3. Under Service Status, click Start.
4. Try to write data to a CD.

his behavior may occur if any one of the following conditions is true:
  • Your Windows XP CD-ROM is scratched, smudged, or dirty. Clean the Windows XP CD-ROM with a soft cloth, insert it in the CD-ROM drive, and then click OK.
  • Your CD-ROM drive is not working correctly or the CD-ROM might be vibrating too much for the laser to accurately read the data. For more information about this problem, see your hardware documentation or contact the CD-ROM manufacturer.
  • If you are using multiple CD-ROM drives, your computer may be trying to locate files on the wrong drive. If your hardware has a feature to disable CD-ROM drives that are not being used, disable the CD-ROM drives that you are not using.
  • Your computer is over-clocked. Because over-clocking is very memory-intensive, decoding errors may occur when you extract files from your Windows XP CD-ROM.
  • Try to use the default clock timings for your motherboard and processor. For more information about how to do this, see your hardware documentation or contact the motherboard manufacturer.
  • Your computer has damaged or mismatched random access memory (RAM) or cache memory. For example, you might be using a combination of extended data out (EDO) and non-EDO RAM, or different RAM speeds.

Decoding errors may occur even if Windows appears to be running correctly. These errors occur because of the additional stress that is put on your computer when Windows tries to extract files and to access the hard disk.

To determine how to make your computer cache memory unavailable while you are running the Setup program, see your hardware documentation or contact your hardware manufacturer.
  • Ultra direct memory access (DMA) is turned on in your computer's CMOS settings, and the data is moving too quickly.
  • Change from DMA mode to Processor Input/Output (PIO) mode to lower your data transfer rate. If this does not resolve the problem, lower your PIO mode settings. The higher your PIO mode settings are, the faster your data transfer is.
  • You are using a third-party memory manager.
  • There is a virus on your computer.
If you continue to receive this error message, copy the i386 folder from the CD-ROM drive to your local hard disk, and then try to run the Setup program from your hard disk.
