Going from mid controls to forward

I have a 2007 spotster XL1200L I bought aftermarket forward controls for it and the holes in the bracket dont line up with the holes in the frame (where the mid controls were) theres a 1/2 in difference. The e-bay store I bought them from said they were the right parts for my bike

I've dealt with the after market forward controls on a couple of Sortsters I've owned, and the thing is that some require a mounting bracket in order to fit, and of course, this is sold separately. I going to say that either it needs a mounting bracket or they sold you the wrong set. A bit of advice, there are a ton of aftermarket sellers on the net now, most have no idea what they're selling or anything about it, so when buying online, stick to the major sellers, custom chrome, barnette, mid-west, drag sp, j&p, etc... basically the big names in aftermarket, and I always recommend a local shop (other than HD) that can get the aftermarket parts. It's always good to have an actual person that you can take the parts back to and show them they don't fit, instead of trying to convince an operator over the phone or internet, and chances are, that operator hasn't been on a bike since they were 6 and it had streamers. Let me know what you found out.

Going from forward to mid controls

New to me. I have never encountered a DYNA with mid controls. It should be easy to see what you need and what works and is necessary to make it work and what is extra parts while you are looking at it and doing the changeover.

Where can i find instructions to change front controls back to mid controls 06 dyna super glide

I'm not sure about your '06 model but the earlier models of FXD that had mid-mount controls had brackets on the frame midways back. Your frame should have two holes in a flat area on both sides of the frame. You must have these two brackets. Once you have these brackets, the rear brake uses a shorter rod to connect the pedal to the rear master cylinder. On the shifter, you must have the shaft that runs through the primary at the inspection cover. If that shaft is not in the primary, you'll have to pull the inner primary to put it back in as you cannot get the shaft in with the inner primary on. You can go to and pull up some drawings of stock configuration vehicles. I did not see a drawing of your .06 FXDI so you may have to choose an earlier year FXD drawing. Maybe it'll help. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help.

How do i change the brake pads?

  1. Remove disc brake caliper from mounting bracket and support with a length of wire or remove sleeve bolt and rotate caliper up and out of the way to remove shoes. Do not allow caliper to hang by the brake line unsupported.
  2. Remove outboard shoe and lining. Use a suitable tool to disengage shoe springs from holes in caliper housing.
  3. Remove inboard shoe and lining, unsnapping shoe spring from piston.
  4. If installing new shoe and linings, bottom piston in caliper bore using large pliers. Take care not to damage piston or piston boot.
  5. Remove bushings from mounting bolt holes in bracket. To install:
  6. Install new bushings to mounting bolt holes in bracket. Lubricate bushings with silicone grease before installation.
  7. Install inboard shoe and lining by snapping shoe retainer spring into piston. Shoe retainer spring is already staked to the inboard shoe. Shoe must lay flat against piston.
  8. Install outboard shoe and lining by snapping shoe springs into holes in caliper housing. Wear sensor should be at the trailing edge of shoe during forward wheel rotation. Back of shoe must lay flat against caliper.
  9. Install caliper.
  10. Apply approximately 175 lbs. (778 N) of force 3 times to brake pedal to seat linings.

Have installed a throttle body spacer for 1995 honda civic from OBX racing sports, almost done but my cable adjustment bracket has to be moved , so there is a bracket that came with the spacer and i dont...

Doesn't look like it goes in the same place as the old bracket?


Then look along the intake manifold, and see if there are bolts that line up, with the holes in the bracket. Align the bracket inline with the cable, move the bracket forward, and backward to see about possible mounting holes.

You may have to flip the bracket around in several positions. A lot of times appearances can be deceiving. The bracket may fit in a completely different position than looks to be obvious.

1999 Dodge Ram Sport, leak in the rear brake line. How do I replace that section of line? It seems to be attached by metal.

You would have to remove the line and buy a new one from the dealer or aftermarket. If the line has a hole in it you want to replace it the line should come off the metal bracket is held in place by a bolt.

hi there....theres always a mounting bracket that should exist....ok try placing the tailight, the correct side left/right onto its position and check the holes..... guess they dont match-up, If its the correct lights you bought and dont line-up to the holes on the vehicle, then you need that mounting bracket

Hannspree Television/Wall Bracket

If there are six threaded holes in the rear of your TV and the bracket supplied has only four holes I would bet that the weight requires a heavier bracket.
