Air hogs pocket copter, brand new. Inserted brand new batteries into charger and controller per instructions. Plug the helicopter into charger and led blinks red as stated. About two or three minutes into charge cycle, led flashes yellow rapidly, then goes out. Tried different batteries in charger, same thing. Also, copter won't lift off and on rare attempts when it does get off the ground, it flies forward and to the right as soon as it gets airborne! It is frustrating me.

Hi,
You bought a defective mini copter, the internal micro relay is malfunctioning and I hope you could bring it back where you bought it. Replace it with a new one and let them try to test flight it before you go home.

Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for asking FixYa!

The worst part was that on that model, there was no customer service phone number, and they ignored the customer service email I sent them. It has been four days, and they still have not acknowledged my complaint.

The air hogs are very spotty. I'd recommend the syma s107. Superior design in every way. Easier to fly, faster, and FAR more durable. See if you can trade... I get mine from Amazon and they are very cool about that. Also, never charge with the controller. Use the usb charger (or aftermarket wall charger) and charge until light is bright. If you unplug from helicopter and charging light gets brighter, it's not fully charged. Note that some usb ports (on laptops or on data ports in the front of some desktops) may take much longer to charge as they do not output the full 5 volts dc.

Air Hogs R/C pocket-copter not functioning

your copter might have already experienced some hard bumps or landings , so you might need to check your copter circuit and battery cables to make sure they are in good condition or check the battery itself.

Infrared RC Copters

Hi, everyone.
Ever since I saw the first advertisements on YouTube, some years ago, I wanted to acquire one of these little helis. When I finally acquired one, I had lots of fun until the little thing started to give me trouble.I own several of these mini-copters and have managed to maintan most of them in good working conditions for about 4 years now.
I would like to share some things that I have learned about RC Infrared Helis, specifically speaking, the airhogs RC helicopters.
First of all these little copters are not intended to be used outside home unless on a very calm day and on an area that has to be protected against sunlight, because sunrays interfere enormously with the IR beam with which the Infra-red light-emmiting controller communicates with the copter. I have found out that even while flying an air hogs copter indoors, when you get them close to a ray of sun shinning through a window, it suddenly drops to the ground.
Next, Most problems that I have encountered have to do with a combination of low battery power, plus trimming. In some of these copters, trimming can take a great deal of pulses before you can get them to fly right.
On the first models I would cut a cardboard fin and tape it to the front of the heli, below the nose and across form it, side to side to make it thrust forward.
Many times there were things like hairs or pieces of cobwebs attached to the axle of the back rotor, causing the heli to spin uncontrollably, even after trying to trimming it with the remote contol.
On other ocassions the copter wouldn't hold a charge even with fresh batteries on the controller. I learned that in time, the charger connector/plug may get dirty, so I usually spray the inner part of these connectors with a light coat of contact cleaner(available at any electronics store like Radio Shack) and then plug and unplug the connector a few times. This has worked fine with my older copters that have presented such problems.

Helicopter charger and batteries in remote ok, chopper won't fly

Is the "flight light" blinking on the copter? If you connect the USB cable to the copter will it power up? Have you tried different batteries in the remote? Check the pins in the charging port on the copter, Otherwise there's not a lot that can be done with these little RCs.

Air Hog Pocket Copter won't charge

If this was the original charger for the air hog copter and it just started to fail in recharging , there must be a faulty part inside the charger that is causing the problem, staying red light during charging period and never turns to green or other color to show that it was charged is one problem but when it also shuts off after 30 seconds without charging definitely shows a faulty part or parts inside the charger. To check this out you can try another good charger which you can borrow from a friend to see if it would charge your copter or you can take it to the store where you bought the copter , they may be able to confirm the fault on your charger, if it can be fixed or needs a replacement.

Stunt copter won't sync

I presume you have lights & sound on the controller when you turn it on - fourteen quick beeps and then a different toned fifteenth beep. The screen lights (blue). Insert the battery (lettering facing up toward the helo fuselage unitl it's seated all the way - an LED inside the fuselage, visible from behind, quick flashes and then begins a slower blinking.

Once the helo battery is inserted, turn on the controller, which starts the aforementioned beeping. On the last controller beep the helo's LED will stay lighted, indicating the helo & controller are synched.

I had a problem making sure the battery was inserted all the way into the helicopter. You'll know it's inserted properly when the LED inside the helo flashes.

Nothing happens

The charger connection is sensitive on the Reflex Pro. It isn't uncommon to plug in the charger, see the light flashing, then when setting it down a slight movement of the cable stops the charging (light will stop flashing). Try connecting the charger again (if you haven't already) and let it charge for about an hour. While getting a good charge can be frustrating, it is worth it for the 4 minutes of fun to follow :-\
