What do you have for a wireless access point in the house?

Has it worked before, and stopped, or has it never worked?

And you mentioned Wifi shops, but you have this listed under desktops, is it actually a laptop?

K, have you tried to ping your base station?
Does your laptop show it finding a wireless connection within range?
Do you have WEP enabled on the router? If so, do you have it locked down by Mac address?

I have an unlocked HTC Touch Pro Diamond that will not connect to any secured WiFi. I tried all suggestions like changing power levels so that it is set to Best Performance etc. Nothing works in my case. I...

Can you see the SSID's on your available network screen? Can you connect to open/unsecured networks? When you mention you are on the ATT Network, are you using their WIFI connection (e.g. star bucks)? If so, do you pay to have access to said network?

If you are trying to connect to a secured network, then you need to find out what the SSID is (if it is not broadcasted) and the security encryption type (WEP? WPA?). Most likely, it's a configuration problem there.

Asus eee pc 900a wireless connection not working

I've experienced the same problem with my ASUS netbook. Uninstall the wireless hard - remove hardware in control panel, reboot the machine and allow it to auto find the adapter again. This should correct it. If there are still problems verify that you have the most current driver for the wireless adapter, either from Asus, or the wireless adapter chipset manufacturer (i.e. Intel, broadcomm, etc.)

ASUS EEE PC w/ Windows XP will not Connect Wirelessly

You need to know if your home network requires a password or paraphrase to allow you to connect. Also, you might have to check your settings on your router, they have to match the settings of your laptop wireless adaptor. You can try these solutions and if no luck post with more information
