The problem might not be with the amp. You will need to check the "remote" output from your head unit at the amp end using a voltmeter. It should be ~12.5 volts dc when the head unit is turned on. If there is no voltage when the head unit is turned on, then the problem is not the amp. The head unit may be bad or there may be an intermitant short somewhere in the remote wire.

You can test the amp by removing the remote wire and connecting the remote input directly to the +12v terminal. Use a short scrap of wire. This will (should) manually turn on the amp. Don't forget to return the remote wire to the remote input or the amp will never turn off.

A friend of mine had his remote wire shorted to ground once after he replaced his head unit. Turns out when he slid the new one into the dash opening he pinched the remote wire against the chassis. Frustrating but an easy fix.

Just hooked up (water lines only, no control wiring yet) a 3 station Jar top Manifold. One of the valves is open while the other two are shut. Have taken apart and see not apparent reason for it to be...

Make sure the bleeder is closed or solenoid is tight. Sometimes valves just fail without a obvious reason. Suggest purchasing the same jar top valve and rebuilt it using the new diaphragm, spring, bonnet and solenoid. This should correct the problem.

Car running rough after spark plugs. Changed on a 2001 Ford Focus

There could be too many reasons. Were the plugs gapped correctly? Are you sure that the wires are correct in order? If so, the next thing you should try is to reset the computer. Sometimes it is possible for the computer to read the old spark plug values even if you replace with new ones. Reset the computer by disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes. The reset may cause the computer to take time gathering new spark plug values until few duty cycles. I hope this information helps you!

Did you get the timing set correctly when you reattached the cam to the timing chain? It sounds like you didn't have the #1 Top dead center or the cams were in the wrong position when you reset the timing chain. The cam shaft and Crank will actually look like they are set correctly two times. Once when it is in time and once when it is out of time 180 degrees. If you are more than 5 degree out of time or more than 5 degrees from the point where it is 180 degrees out of time the engine normally won't fire at all. The easiest way to check and verify this is to do compression checks on the cylinders, you will find you have little or no compression on several cylinders if this is the case. To correct it remove the timing chain and set the crank to #1 Top Dead center. Then go to the head that is on the #1 side, line the cam up so that both valves are closed for the number 1 and line that mark up. You have to find the firing order to make sure the intake is open getting ready to close for the next cylinder that going to fire and the exhaust valve is closed, then make teh final adjustment to line that cams timing mark up then replace the timing chain. This should get everything roughly within 5 degrees of zero and should get the motor so it will start.

I wired my fog lights for the power into the fuse box, but they stay on all the time when I turn on the car. I have them wired into my low beams, but I only want them to come on when I turn on my low...

OK, you need to connect a relay to one of the 'power' wires under the hood that leads to the bulb of the low beams. Then, the fog lights will go on only when they are turned on or off.

Otherwise, you could have a relay that is controlled by a switch that independently operates the relay and thus the fog lights.

Both methods are legal in, Pennsylvania, anyway.

Sometimes hooking up the relay to the fuse box will only turn the fog lights on if the ignition switch is turned on for switched fuse box contacts. And, sometimes, hooking the relay to the fuse box will keep the fog lights on all of the time, as the fuse box may be energized at all times at certain contacts.

Good luck on installing your fog lights, correctly.

You have wired it correctly assuming this is a 230V water heater. The timer should have come with the motor connected to terminals 1 & 3. You should be able to see two small wires coming from the rear. These are the motor leads. Make sure they are on terminals 1 &3 also. Check for 230V on the 1 & 3 terminals with the load off just to be sure you didn't accidentally reverse the line and load. Check to be sure timer motor is running. GOOD LUCK!

Concept CC-2502 Car Audio Amplifier

The amps are probably going into protection mode. The wires are most likely not hooked up correctly. Make sure you have a good ground, good power source, and the remote wire is run correctly. Also make sure the speaker output wires aren't touching each other, and you have the correct ohm load for the amp. What kind of speakers/subs are hooked up and how are they wired?
