Question about Jenn-Air JES9800A Electric Kitchen Range

Jenn-air shut off while cooking giving f9 code

While cooking, slide in stove shut down, beeped continuously, displayed F9 code. I turned it off and tried restarting. 'The door tried to lock as if going into cleaning mode, then beeped, displayed F9 and shut down. Will no longer cook. Help my turkey is only half cooked.

    I have the same problem. My Jenn-Air slid-in stove-oven stopped cooking and started beeping and I got the F9 code. Now the oven won't heat up properly. I've tried taking removing the cooktop and pushing the reset button and that doesn't help.

The F9 is a door lock latch circuit problem, either the motor latch or the control/power supply board will need to be replaced.

What does F9 mean? Won't allow me to use the oven


F9 -It is a Door latch fault code

Check door latch components.The stove is not detecting a proper door close.Or else there might be some metal blocking the door from closing.It should solve itself in few hours else you might have to replace the door latch system.Good luck with the machine.Please do post comments.Also do rate the solution.Thank you in advance.

I get failure code F9-3


What a scam by service personnel.
-Simply press "Stop/Clear", then gently push the door handle until "Lock" appears on the screen. Press "Stop/Clear" again and the door unlocks itself!

I am getting a F9 on front of my oven


We solved this by holding in the door/light switch, hitting "clean", then pressing stop/clear for about 3 seconds.

If you hit clean Button, try to Cancel it.
If it's beeping... and see F9, I tried to push in the door... and the "lock" was clear..... and the door was opened.......

Beeping noise - letters appear fc


Since Jenn-Airs codes are F1-F9, the cicuit board may be on the way out since the code resets after you turn it off for a while.

Function Problem


Paul, the F9-3 code has to do with the oven door lock motor assy.. Water must have gotten on to it and now the fault. There is a quick test mode on the model ending in aab, if yours ends in this try this. Unplug the oven for 30 seconds, plug it back in and press and hold the cancel and broil buttons together. It should enter test mode. When in the test mode press the clean button to see if the motor activates and resets. Press cancel to exit the test mode...Catriver...post back
