Question about Weather King 10AJA6001AH Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Hurricane I have a friend in Baton Rouge La, who has been told his electric will be out for 6 weeks due to the hurricane. He is looking to buy a ggenerator which can operate his whole house Weatherking Model 104J645A01 ( model number was read to me by his ditzy girl friend who may have read a 4 as an A etc.) The whole house air conditioner is for a trailer home. Can you tell me what that air conditioner should draw in watts? If not that particular model, could you tell me what a typical wattage generator would be required for a typical whole house La. trailer home? Joe Baker

Why does the radiator fan run quiet when idling, but sounds like a hurricane when pulling away in low gear, then it quietens down after shifting into second?

Radiator fan is required to move air through Probably both radiatro and air conditioning coil. Fan is responding to an increase in the heat it needs to remove (get rid of) from the cooling and or air conditioning system.

After years of perfect operation the water reservoir tank needs to be emptied every few hours. Is is almost a gallon of water each time. The normal time was always every other day ...at most once a...

12k BTUs will condense a gallon an hour easily, sounds like the problem is with a probable self-evaporating portion of the condenser. If so either the inner workings of that unit are dirty/malfunctioning or the exhaust duct is not getting proper airflow. If you're mechanically inclined I'd recommend pulling the unit apart and cleaning the condenser parts. If not perhaps try attaching a permanent drain hose to the drain plug. Definitely check the exhaust duct either way.

RV Roof Top A/C not cooling

Try turning the unit off for 24 hours and try again. It's possible that low voltage may be preventing the compressor from starting.

If no luck, the compressor should be checked to see if it's damaged. Also check any start/run capacitors and the controls in general.

I recently bought a 4 ton 14.5 SEER Rudd Spilt system using R-410 and matching Rudd furnace. This system replaced a Lennox 10 SEER 4 ton unit. Now that it has gotten hot in Baton Rouge LA 90-93 degrees....

Sounds like the Unit might be low on charge. But without correct readings not sure.
The new unit with 410 will actually cool better due to higher boiling point temp. of freon type.Poor air circulation could also cause problem.Such as dirty filter, too slow fan speed, dirty coil. Also could have obstruction in freon lines either at pump,in line set,or in coil.
Get someone u trust to check it out and ask for their Rudd Dealership Training Credentials.

Verify your outside breaker did not trip or the inside breaker. Reset once if it continues to trip have some one check it out. If you have a programable t-stat take it off the wall and remove the battery this will cause it to reset
