Question about IBM ThinkPad A20 2629 Notebook
When starting up there only some beeps sounds but nothing appears on the screen. Screen is black all the time.
This is generally caused by a bad battery or a failed memory chip. Start by removing the battery and starting the machine with the power supply only. Then remove the memory and try each chip one at a time in each slot. If these do not work, then the problem will most likely be a failed component in the power management system on the motherboard, and will need professionally diagnosed in order to track down the exact problem component.
