Question about Dryers
When I start the dryer all it does is buzz. This is a GE model # EGD3000B0WW could you please help me.
It does not look like there is an access panel from the back side on this model, but you may be able to try this: Remove power to dryer. Take screw out that holds the end of the exhaust pipe to the back of the dryer and pull out the metal exhaust pipe. Now you should be able to look in and see the end of the motor and the belt. Release the belt and turn the motor shaft by hand. If it turns easily, the drum supports slides are pobably shot (
WE1M333) and possibly the part that holds them (
WE3M26) which causes exsessive drag on the drum. If the motor shaft does not turn easily, hope you have a sock or wash rag stuck in the blower wheel. If not, motor is bad. To get at the blower or the other parts you will have to take the screws out holding the top down to the front of the dryer, then remove the screw on each side near the top holding the front on. Lift the front slightly and remove. You don't have to take off the wires to the door switch. Parts I listed are supporting the drum on the top side. If you need more info do an "ask me" question.
