My home PC sees the device and works perfectly, but my Work PC does not, and neither does my Playstation nor TV.

I have installed WMP v11 and the patch on my work PC but to no avail. No idea what to install (if anything) on the PS3. Any help gratefully received

I plug the player into my USB port. My computer will charge the player, but will not acknowledge it as a drive; I can't access the player in any way. The player had worked without problems for 2-3 months until only a week ago. No computer that I have laid hands on will recognize the player.

inthreewords - you are a legend! This works a treat, thanks !!!

Now the only problem I have is getting my Playstation3 to see this MP3 player. Anyone have any ideas on this?

    Thanks

I think it isn't problems on PC. I had tried to connect this player to many PCs, but on everyone I hadn't seen any messages on screen, but on player's display was label: "Disconnected"

Found the solution on another site (http://www.everythingusb.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=11238). To quote user AFHavemann :

"* Plug in the player so the USB bus can see it.

* Once it’s recognized (i.e., the device screen reads "Charging" and "USB Disconnected"), go to the Control Panel and click "System"

* Choose "Hardware" then "Device Manager" tab.

* Look for the name of your device under “Portable Devices” in the list

* If the name of your player is under “MTP Device” then the correct drivers are probably loaded

* Right-click on the name of your device and click "Properties"

* Click “Update Driver”"

Then follow the prompts from there. The computer searches for the driver software, etc., and reinstalls/resets information related to the device, which fixed things such that the computer will now recognize the device. I'm not sure what causes the problem, but this solution seems to reset whatever's gone wrong.

The solution is it wont support for windows media player older versions...
atleat your Pc should have windows media player 10 or 11 installed...
that is the only solution that i have understood by putting my MP3 in to different systems...

SOURCE: how do I charge Samsung

The player needs to be charged via the USB connnection on your PC. If it doesnt fit, try the USB ports on the back. If its not working/not charging, please test the MP3 player on another PC.

My mp3 doesnt connect into my usb it just disconnects and starts to charge can you help me

I assume from your description that either you are running a version of Windows older than XP/2000 or you need a special driver. Here is a link for the driver(s) you will need. Just enter your model number and select your version of Windows. Download and run the file and you should be up and running shortly.

USB connection problem

my YP-U3 player will not connect via my USB port. When plugged in to a port that connects my digital camera normally it first says on screen "USB Connecting" then changes after 2 to 3 seconds to "disconnected - Charging". it has fully charged and no change. I have checked the hold switch is disengaged. the media studio software is installed ok and the portable devices functions are greyed out. I cannot find the device on my pc. I am running Windows XP SP2. I will be returning it to the store where it was purchased very soon if i cannot find a solution. I notice there are a lot of people who have posted similar problems that have not recieved solutions.ya i have th same problem im using window xp 2

USB connection problem

I think I got it guys. forget WMP 9,. 10 , 11... I run win xp service pack 2 and could not install the samsung yp-u3 player. I kept having it found as a new hardware {portable device} but as we all know this software has no drivers, and the windows update produces MTP device error. Resulting in you not being able to see your player in XP. Well go to windows update site and search for a file called "mtppk12.exe" I'm pretty sure once you install that file and reboot, you will no longer have MTP device errors. However, I installed this at the same time i installed windows media player SDK. So maybe both files are required. Finally after 2 days of troubleshooting i got mine to work.
